About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HSEQ Coordinator for our client's BECCS project. The role involves supporting the HSSEQ Manager and the project organization by ensuring structured, systematic, and proactive work within health, safety, environment, and quality during the project's planning and execution phases.
The role focuses specifically on audits, inspections, compliance, and implementation, contributing to strengthening operational HSEQ work on-site, without formal coordination responsibility according to Swedish occupational health and safety legislation.
You will report to the HSSEQ Manager and work closely with the BAS-P Case Manager, BAS-U Case Manager, Environmental Specialist, QA/QC, and other parts of the project organization.
Responsibilities
As an HSEQ Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
General Responsibilities
- Manage and structure documentation in Project Place and ACONEX with a focus on traceability and structure.
- Monitor HSSEQ KPIs and the Control Tower.
- Produce reports on HSSEQ performance and follow-up.
- Identify recurring deviations, trends, and systemic deficiencies and report these to the HSSEQ Manager.
- Contribute to improved foresight by identifying upcoming high-risk activities.
Occupational Health and Safety (H&S)
- Support BAS-U and BAS-P by developing, maintaining, and monitoring structures, routines, and systems for occupational health and safety work according to legal and project requirements.
- Ensure that routines exist for incident management, risk assessments, work preparation, and method descriptions.
- Plan, monitor, and document safety rounds, safety inspections, and occupational health follow-ups according to project routines.
- Monitor HSE incidents in ACONEX and ensure that risk observations, near misses, and accidents are closed.
- Coordinate HSE training for project members as well as contractors and suppliers.
Audits and Quality Assurance
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor internal HSEQ audits and inspections within the project.
- Develop and maintain audit programs and audit plans within:
- Occupational health and safety.
- Quality management in collaboration with QA/QC.
- Environmental management in collaboration with the Environmental Specialist.
- Ensure compliance with the project's governing documents, routines, and working methods.
- Coordinate and monitor the establishment of ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and control plans.
- Ensure follow-up, closure, and traceability of NCRs (Non-Conformity Reports).
Environment
- Collaborate with the Environmental Specialist to ensure that environmental requirements and protective measures are implemented in the project.
- Monitor that contractors work according to approved environmental routines and control programs.
- Coordinate environmental audits and environmental follow-ups together with the Environmental Specialist.
Qualifications
Experience
- At least 7–10 years of experience in HSEQ, quality, or occupational health monitoring in large construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Competencies and Skills
- Strong analytical skills and experience with audits and follow-up.
- Structured working method and good administrative ability.
- Good communication skills and experience collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and drive issues forward.
Knowledge
- Good understanding of Swedish occupational health and safety legislation.
- Experience with occupational health work in construction and industrial projects.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and audit methodology.
