The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH, is Sweden's leading knowledge centre for sport, performance development, physical activity and health. We conduct high-quality research with societal relevance, focusing on the human body in motion. We educate teachers in physical education and health, as well as coaches, health scientists, behavioural scientists, sports and health managers, sports scientists and researchers. At GIH, 160 employees and 1,400 students work and study. The university college is located in central Stockholm, close to Stockholm Stadium and a large sports and outdoor area.

The Department of Health Sciences offers education, research and collaboration within the fields of psychology, neuroscience and public health science.

We are now looking for a research assistant who wants to combine studies with meaningful and developmental research work.

Responsibilities

In the role of research assistant, you will be involved in several parts of the research process. The tasks include, among other things:

• Participate in and, under supervision, be responsible for parts of the data collection regarding fitness, walking capacity, cognition, motor function and physical activity,
• Contact and support study participants via telephone and via a study-specific digital clinic/platform,
• Compile and quality-assure collected data,
• Support the study's physiotherapists in the use of the digital clinic.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• You must be admitted to and be an active student in a basic or advanced programme at a Swedish higher education institution,
• Good language skills in Swedish, both oral and written, as a central part of the role involves communicating with study participants who have had a stroke,
• You are in your final year of the physiotherapy programme,
• You have basic knowledge of tests/measurements and digital proficiency.

Merits

• Licence as a physiotherapist,
• Clinical experience working with people who have had a stroke,
• Experience in conducting physical tests or measuring function in the lower extremities and gait,
• Previous experience in participating in research studies.

Duration/Working hours

The employment is fixed-term according to HF Chapter 5 Section 12. The extent is 20% of full-time. Start date August by agreement, until June 30, 2027.

For research assistant positions, employment can be for up to one year at a time, but in total up to three years. The holder of the employment should be a student during the entire employment period.
