Fridhemskolan

Fridhemskolan is a two-parallel F-6 school with an after-school center, where F-3, 4-6, and the after-school center form three work teams. The school is centrally located in Vårgårda, close to nature, and features a large, accessibility-adapted schoolyard. There are 235 students at the school, and we have approximately 35 staff members.

Fridhemskolan's vision is that all students should feel safe, happy, and acquire good knowledge. We work towards this throughout the day through routines, attitudes, interactions, systematic quality work, and student health meetings. The student council and cooperation council are also engaged in this work. We strive to create good education for everyone by developing learning environments together and creating structured and varied teaching.

Qualified Teacher in Textile and Wood/Metal Crafts

Job Responsibilities

As a qualified teacher in textile and wood/metal crafts, you have the opportunity to obtain a permanent position at 100%. A combined workshop is planned to be built at the school, where textile crafts teaching can be conducted for one term and wood/metal crafts for one term. Construction of this room will begin no earlier than spring of the 2026/27 school year.

What we need for the 2026/27 school year – before we have our own crafts room at the school – is a teacher in textile crafts at 50% who is also willing to serve as a resource teacher at 50%. The crafts teaching is currently conducted at another school in Vårgårda, and you will have a colleague teaching wood crafts in parallel.

Your job responsibilities for the 2026–27 school year:

• Planning, implementation, and development of teaching
• Assessment and grading
• Collaboration with students, guardians, colleagues, and management
• In collaboration with teachers, contribute to good teaching for students with special needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person who:

• Has teacher certification in wood, metal, and/or textile crafts or equivalent.
• Has experience teaching crafts.
• Is positive, flexible, and has a strong desire to be part of an engaged and supportive work team.
• Is interested in creating good teaching for all and working to strengthen the quality of teaching and student learning.
• Is good at collaborating with students, guardians, colleagues, and school leadership.
