About Björkskatan School

Björkskatan School is centrally located in the district of Björkskatan. For the school year 2025/26, we have 390 students from grades 7 to 9. Experienced and dedicated teachers, educators, leaders, and professionals work here. At Björkskatan School, we believe in creating a good atmosphere and building relationships among everyone at the school. We have a nice local area with an ice hockey rink, football field, and basketball court, as well as excellent indoor study environments with good lighting, air quality, and noise levels.

The school features, among other things, two learning studios where resource teachers and special needs educators/special teachers work with students to provide extra support. The teaching staff collaborates with the local student health team, which consists of school leadership, resource teachers, special needs educators, a counselor, a career guidance counselor (SYV), and a school nurse. We also have a well-functioning student council that provides good opportunities for student influence, creating engaged students who care about their school and education.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a teacher in Modern Language French for grades 6-9. You will be part of a work team and subject team, collaborating closely with other teachers to create the best possible education for the students.

Your duties include planning and conducting teaching, assessing student performance, and grading students. You will also share mentorship responsibilities with another teacher in your work team, where you are responsible for monitoring your mentees' knowledge development and well-being at school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have the eligibility and certification to teach Modern Language French. You should be able to express yourself well both orally and in writing. It is an advantage if you have experience and knowledge in working with language- and knowledge-developing methods, and if you have good skills in using digital tools as pedagogical aids and as communication tools in learning.

It is of great importance that you can contribute to the school's values-based work through a democratic approach and by being a good role model. You should have the ability to build relationships with students and among students, and create clear structure and boundaries to ensure a safe environment where students receive a good and accessible working environment. Furthermore, you should be able to establish good collaboration with guardians as well as with other professionals inside and outside the school.

If you are considered for the position, you will need to provide a certified extract from the criminal record registry.
