Magelungen Utveckling is an employee-owned company offering specialized treatment and change work for children, young people, young adults, and their families. Magelungen provides treatment as well as resource schools at the primary and upper secondary levels. The goal is to create a context in our operations that is manageable, meaningful, and understandable. Research and evaluation are integrated parts of all our activities.
Do you want to help create the resource school of the future – where students can grow, succeed, and feel hope? We are now looking for you with qualifications in English, Physical Education, and Music!
About Us
We offer school and treatment, where education is integrated with skills training and therapy. The operations are characterized by a non-hierarchical collaboration between different professions. In addition to educators, we have behavioral scientists, social workers, and family therapists who, together with school staff, support students in their development. The school targets young people in grades 7–9 who have extensive needs for special support. The students we meet often have social, psychosocial, or neuropsychiatric challenges and often have a long history of school absence. To help these young people achieve a functional school routine, we work with small-scale operations, high staff density, enhanced student social support, and individually designed approaches based on each student's prerequisites and needs. We have a systemic and salutogenic perspective, focusing on working with the whole person and building on what works. Our goal is to offer a context where all students have a chance to succeed based on their individual conditions.
About the Position
As a teacher at Magelungen, you become a key figure in a holistic approach that combines teaching, relationships, and change work. You teach in a small group where the students' strengths are the starting point for planning and learning. You have overall responsibility for the teaching and plan, implement, and follow up on both an individual and group level, with mentoring, contact with guardians, and collaboration with, for example, social services and healthcare, as part of the assignment.
The assignment is challenging and involves a changing student environment with many simultaneous demands and close relationship work, which places high demands on structure, flexibility, and endurance. At the same time, it offers great opportunities to make a real difference.
In your daily work, you focus on the students' resources and competencies and work together with them towards their own goals. You collaborate closely with school leadership, colleagues, student health services, and treatment coordinators in a cross-professional team, contribute to development work, and create teaching that combines knowledge, structure, and relationships in a context characterized by trust, warmth, and endurance.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications in English, Physical Education, and/or Music for grades 6–9 and who have experience with, or a strong interest in, students with extensive support needs. You see the relationship as your primary pedagogical tool, combine structure with creativity, and maintain calm even when daily life tests you. You are motivated by working in an idealistic and employee-owned operation where research and reflection are a natural part. Experience in special needs education is an advantage.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You are a secure and stable teacher who actively uses relationships in your work and combines trust, structure, and clear leadership with flexibility and creativity. The work requires teamwork skills, endurance, and a solution-focused approach. You will become an important part of an engaged team where we together create structure, security, and development for students in need of special support. The school is exclusively for students with extensive needs for special support, and therefore we would appreciate it if you have experience working with this specific student category.
What We Offer
Our operation is idealistic and employee-owned, a conscious choice that reflects our commitment and long-term perspective. We offer a meaningful workplace where every day feels important, close leadership, and a warm collegium that believes in collaboration and development. We provide continuous supervision and competence development within Magelungen's professional program, as well as the opportunity to influence how we build the resource school of the future.
Employment Type
The position is a permanent full-time or part-time position, depending on your subject qualifications. We apply a 6-month probation period.
Application
For more information about the position, you are warmly welcome to contact Principal Camilla Lindroth Vestergren.
Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
An extract from the criminal record will be requested.
We look forward to receiving your application!
