The Education Unit within the Joint Administration is looking for a coordinator. Do you want to work with coordinating pedagogical support for students with disabilities at the university? Then we hope you will apply for this position with us!
The Education Unit is one of ten units within the university's joint administration, and approximately 100 people work at the unit. Within the unit, we work based on the vision of creating operational support that creates opportunities. Responsibilities
In the role of Coordinator for Pedagogical Support, you and your colleagues work to coordinate the pedagogical support for students with documented, permanent disabilities. A large part of the work consists of your own meetings with students through physical meetings, digital meetings, or phone calls. The role also involves independently and jointly with coordinator colleagues providing support to the departments, among other things in matters concerning support and adjustments for students as well as accessibility.
The assignment includes, among other things:
- Mapping the study situation and handling cases for students with various types of permanent disabilities, such as neuropsychiatric disabilities, reading and writing difficulties/dyslexia, mental disabilities, other medical conditions, etc.
- Working to develop operations and manage internal routines and processes for the work
- Performing administration related to the assignment and working in IT and financial systems
- Collaborating with colleagues within the function and developing operations
- Informing about general support and pedagogical support for students
- Informing and lecturing to groups within and outside the university about pedagogical support and accessibility
- Collaborating with colleagues within the section, administrators and study counselors at the department and teachers as well as with the library.
Qualifications
You who apply have relevant education in special education, speech therapy, or psychology, at least at the bachelor's level.
It is a requirement that you have previous experience working with pedagogical support and that you have worked with mapping, supervision, and/or teaching directed towards people with various types of permanent disabilities. Furthermore, it is a requirement to have experience handling conversations based on conversation methodology and to have worked with accessibility and equal treatment issues. You are also comfortable speaking in front of an audience and have practical experience working based on the Discrimination Act. We would also appreciate if you have experience working at a university/college.
Furthermore, the position requires that you have very good IT skills and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with different web systems related to administration and finance. You should also have experience of extensive communication via email.
The position requires that you can express yourself very well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and that you can adapt your communication to the target group. You also need to feel comfortable providing information and lecturing to larger groups.
The duties require responsibility, teamwork skills, a structured way of working, and thoroughness. Great emphasis will be placed on the ability to work together with other people and on personal suitability.
Employment
The employment is permanent with an extent of 100% (full-time) with placement at the Education Unit, Section for Student and Educational Support, Gothenburg. The unit has offices in central Gothenburg (Rosenlundsgatan). We intend to fill 1-2 positions.
The start date for the employment is August 17, 2026, or as agreed. Probationary employment may apply.
The University of Gothenburg offers the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week, provided it is possible based on the operational needs.
