Do you want to work in one of the fastest-growing markets within the green transition — and help build the energy systems of the future? Our client is growing rapidly within energy storage and is now looking for an Applications Engineer who wants to become part of their expanding technical team in Stockholm. Here you will work closely with real projects, international suppliers, and large-scale battery facilities that enable the expansion of solar and wind power in the Nordics.

About the role:

Within energy storage, our client works as an EPC contractor (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) — they design, procure, and deliver complete battery systems to customers across the Nordics. They do not manufacture the systems themselves but are responsible for the whole picture: technology, integration, delivery, and functionality. The market for energy storage is growing rapidly globally, and they have recently secured several major projects — which means they now need to strengthen their engineering team. You will become part of an applications engineering team and work broadly with the technology behind large-scale energy storage. The role of Applications Engineer combines technical project support with system development and supplier collaboration. This is a role for you who wants to understand the entire system, not just a single component.

What makes this role unique?

You will work in one of the energy industry's hottest growth areas with a holistic perspective on large energy systems. You will collaborate with world-leading suppliers and receive rapid professional development — 1 year in this industry can equate to several years of experience in traditional industry. You will join a small, growing team with significant influence, in an international work environment, with approximately 50 travel days globally per year. No day is the same, and you work in a dynamic environment.

Your main responsibilities:

1. Technical support in project deliveries

  • Support project managers with technical expertise
  • Produce and manage technical documentation and drawings
  • Work with:
    • Single line diagrams
    • Site layouts
    • Communication and system drawings
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with suppliers globally
  • Provide technical support on-site during installation and commissioning

2. System and application development

  • Further develop the portfolio of energy storage solutions
  • Collaborate with international sub-suppliers
  • Optimize system design and sizing of battery storage
  • Work with grid requirements and grid codes
  • Develop internal technical tools and working methods
  • You will work closely with technical leads and, over time, be able to take technical responsibility for your own projects

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a university degree or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems
  • Has at least 1 year of work experience in similar tasks
  • Has a basic understanding of power systems
  • Speaks and writes fluent Swedish and English, as both languages are used in daily work

Meritorious:

  • 2–5 years of experience in similar tasks
  • Experience from power systems, energy, solar, wind, or battery systems
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD tools

As a person, we see that you are independent, curious, and solution-oriented. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you want to learn quickly and take responsibility. You enjoy the variety between technology, projects, and collaboration. This is not a heavily process-driven industrial environment — the role suits you who likes building something new.

About the employment:

This is a recruitment where you will be employed directly by the client company. Friday is responsible for the recruitment process, and all questions should be directed to Friday. A background check will be conducted before employment.
