Job Description

The reception has a central function in providing service both externally and internally. Externally, it involves meeting citizens at the reception, while internally it means supporting employees within IFO (Individual and Family Care). The reception is part of the Service and Transport unit and is a new part of the operations since 2026. You will develop and shape the operations together with the unit manager.

The role in the reception involves greeting our visitors with good hospitality, receiving incoming documents, directing visitors appropriately, and guiding citizens regarding digital applications used for financial assistance, housing, and more. You are also responsible for our "Housing School" (Boskola) and other information initiatives for our citizens, as well as mentoring individuals in work training, internships, and special employment. The work also includes handling documents received by social services and other typical reception duties.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you need to have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Experience in service-oriented work
  • Experience in meeting people in vulnerable situations
  • Pedagogical skills with good communicative abilities in Swedish, both oral and written
  • Good digital competence and experience working in various IT systems, especially the Office package

The following are meritorious:

  • Experience with low-affective handling (calm de-escalation techniques)
  • Experience working in the Lifecare operational system
  • Experience working in a reception
  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Knowledge of the various operations within social services
  • Experience in customer reception

The role requires a high degree of service orientation and a professional, respectful attitude towards both visitors and colleagues.

You are receptive, communicate clearly, and have a good ability to guide and find solutions when meeting people, while also feeling secure in setting boundaries when necessary. The work can be fast-paced and varied between reception duties and meetings with people in different situations. This requires you to be flexible, structured, and able to prioritize based on operational needs. You collaborate well with others, take responsibility for your tasks, and can independently drive the work forward. Contributing to a positive team spirit and sharing Burlöv Municipality's values is a given for you.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
