Vocational Teacher for Construction Education – House Construction

Do you want to help train the future workers of the construction industry?

The construction education at Uddevalla Adult Education is a school recommended by the industry's professional committee (BYN). We are now looking for an engaged and knowledgeable vocational teacher specializing in house construction/carpentry.

About the Education

The construction education at Uddevalla Adult Education offers training in the following vocational specializations:

• Carpenter
• Floor Layer
• Tiler
• Glazier

All specializations are in apprenticeship form, meaning students spend at least 70% of their training time at a company. We work closely with the industry and place great emphasis on providing our students with a solid vocational education focused on knowledge, safety, quality, and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher, you will:

• Plan, conduct teaching, and assess and evaluate student performance in accordance with current guidelines.
• Support and guide students in their learning and development.
• Develop and adapt educational materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Work in close collaboration with industry representatives to ensure the education is relevant and up-to-date.
• Visit students at their workplace-based learning sites and conduct tripartite meetings.
• Supervise and support students in their individual learning processes, creating a positive and educational atmosphere.
• Collaborate with the industry and other education providers to keep the educational content current and relevant.
• Participate in and contribute to the development of the education by sharing your experiences and insights.

You have the student in focus and want to contribute to every student reaching their goals. You are responsible, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. As a person, you are clear, structured, and have a good ability to create security and calm in teaching.

We also value that you are creative, solution-focused, and interested in school development and increased goal achievement.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Completed or ongoing vocational teacher education.
• Good professional knowledge within the construction industry.
• Experience from working life in house construction or related areas.
• Preferably a broad network within the construction industry.
• Good ability to work with digital tools and see digital technology as a natural part of teaching.

Industry contacts and experience from relevant working life are highly meritorious.

Other Information

Interviews may take place continuously during the recruitment period.
