About the Workplace

This position is located in a centrally situated facility in Gothenburg. The principal plans to launch a new central introduction program (IM) screening unit. The purpose of this unit is to receive new IM students in the city to assess their knowledge and prerequisites, match them with suitable IM programs, and provide a secure and individualized start to their secondary education.
Responsibilities
For Angeredsgymnasiet’s introduction program, Individual Alternative (IMA), we are seeking an engaged teacher in Mathematics and English for the academic year 2026/2027. You will play a key role in launching our new central IM screening unit.
As a teacher in Mathematics and English, you will plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on the laws, regulations, and steering documents applicable to teachers. Teaching is conducted at both compulsory school and upper secondary school levels and is fully adapted to the individual needs of the students. In addition to teaching, the role includes mentorship and study visits with students on various IM programs within the Education Administration.
In the new screening unit, you will work on assessing students' knowledge in Mathematics and English. You will take on a crucial role in analyzing students' current knowledge levels, matching them with appropriate educational tracks, and providing targeted instruction to help them take their next steps.
Our working methods are based on high sensitivity, clarity, structure, and a high degree of individual adaptation. You are expected to work closely with students to strengthen their confidence in subjects that often require extra support, patience, and creative pedagogical methods.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach Mathematics and English at both the compulsory school level (later years of compulsory school) and the upper secondary school level. Since the teaching spans both these school forms, qualifications for both compulsory school and upper secondary school are required for the position. Previous experience working as a teacher and experience teaching students with neuropsychiatric disabilities (such as ADHD or autism) are also requirements. Experience in assessment work and study planning for newly arrived students or students in need of special support is highly meritorious.
Since Mathematics and English are key subjects for achieving upper secondary school eligibility, you need to be flexible and skilled at adjusting your approach based on students' varying prerequisites and needs over time. You have strong digital competence and integrate digital tools naturally into both planning and teaching (for example, through compensatory aids and digital learning materials). You use the computer as a natural support in both pedagogical work and administration.
You show genuine commitment to the situation of young people, have a good ability to recognize different needs, and adapt your working methods based on the target group. You are open to developing and trying new working methods in teaching. Personal suitability is highly valued, such as creativity, good collaboration skills, and the ability to adapt when conditions change and to find constructive solutions in everyday life.
