Description
Utbyskolan is a primary school with a focus on resource school, admitting only students in need of extensive and long-term special support. Our students follow the same curriculum and time plan as other students in primary school. We are a grades 1–9 school with one class in grades 1–3, two classes in grades 4–6, and three classes in grades 7–9.
We focus on accessibility and inclusive learning environments from a health-promoting and preventive student health perspective. At the resource school, we work with smaller student groups and higher staff resources. This gives us greater opportunities to make individual adjustments in teaching and the learning environment for students who need it most.
"The Forest in School" is part of our pedagogy, where students receive outdoor education connected to the right of public access, nature, environment, and practical learning. We work on language development in all subjects and in all learning environments throughout the school day. We aim to contribute to a democratic community where all students are involved, an environment where students have great opportunities to develop and learn, and where differences are seen as an asset.
Responsibilities
You plan, implement, and follow up on your teaching. We have a work team for each stage, led by the school's team leader. You are part of a work team with teachers who have different subject competencies. Together with your subject and work team, you work jointly to strengthen the student's learning process and create the best possible learning environment. The school's student health team is part of the school's work team and supports issues related to learning environment, teaching, attendance, and students' need for special support.
The teaching position includes a shared mentoring role for one of the classes in the resource school. The mentors and the class's resources have joint time allocated for planning and follow-up.
We place great emphasis on your desire to develop teaching, your ability to differentiate your instruction, and your ability to work with visual support. Therefore, competence development, collegial learning, and joint planning are a large part of our shared time. We believe in collaboration between teachers and other professions.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach Swedish/Social Studies and Mathematics. It is an advantage if you have additional qualifications. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and work clearly with knowledge goals. You should have experience working with students with extensive needs for special support in primary school, resource school, or similar operations.
As a teacher, you have the ability to create good relationships and act as a role model for students. You are engaged, have good collaboration skills, and a positive approach. Your teaching is characterized by a love of learning where students are given room for participation and engagement. To work with us, it is important that you share this view and view school development and goal achievement positively. You create working methods and contexts that give all students opportunities to succeed.
Since communication and documentation are part of the daily work, you must have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You are expected to engage in the school's development work together with colleagues, come up with ideas and suggestions while being open to others' opinions.
We warmly welcome your application!
The position will be filled subject to the condition that it is not taken by already permanently employed staff.
Other
