Job Responsibilities

Employment and Adult Education operates four Competence Centers in Gothenburg with the common goal of supporting job seekers into employment or education.

We are now looking for an Employment Consultant for Competence Center Hisingen.

Our competence centers work on behalf of the Social Services with the goal of helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency through work or studies. Participants receive support both individually and in groups through motivational and coaching conversations, study and career guidance, internships, preparatory measures, job search activities, and competence-enhancing education. You will work together with other employment consultants, job brokers, employment officers, study and career counselors, and occupational therapists. The work group consists of approximately 15 people. The unit has a coordinator who, in close collaboration with the unit manager, leads and provides methodological guidance in daily operations.

In your role as an Employment Consultant, you support and motivate participants both individually and in groups to help them reach their goals. You work in close collaboration with the Social Services, the Swedish Public Employment Service, our procured services, and employers. You initiate and conduct multi-party meetings when necessary. You are the hub in the network and are responsible for your participant's journey through the Competence Center. As an Employment Consultant, you ensure that participants are offered measures that meet their needs and lead to relevant steps forward for the individual. You ensure that individual implementation plans are drawn up and that these are continuously followed up and developed to contribute to effective matching. You report back to the Social Services and document in Treserva and in the business system GW Arbetsmarknad.

Qualifications

You must have a university degree of 180 higher education credits with a behavioral science focus, such as a social work degree, or other equivalent education that the employer deems relevant. Additionally, you must have at least two years of experience in change work with people who have complex support needs to approach self-sufficiency.

It is meritorious if you have experience of collaboration with financial assistance within the social services and are accustomed to working together with various actors around the individual. Furthermore, it is a plus if you have further education in conversation methodology, such as Motivational Interviewing (MI). It is also meritorious if you have experience of documentation in the business systems Treserva and GWA as well as experience working with various employment measures.

As a person, you have a pronounced service-oriented and professional approach. You believe in people's own ability and are good at motivating and creating a work alliance. You easily build trusting relationships with both participants and partners and see opportunities in meetings. You enjoy challenges, are open to new solutions, are flexible, and have drive. You are considered to have a particularly good ability to work together with others. You are clear and persistent.

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.
