The Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF) is a government agency that produces knowledge about the living conditions of young people and the prerequisites for civil society. Our vision is an open and inclusive Sweden with good conditions for young people and for civil society. We strengthen civil society and young people for a cohesive and strong Sweden.

MUCF has been tasked by the government to work towards achieving the goals within youth policy and civil society policy. We do this by producing, collecting, and disseminating knowledge and contributing to the coordination of state efforts. We collaborate with agencies, municipalities, regions, and civil society organizations, as well as distributing state grants.

MUCF is the national program office for the EU's youth programs Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps. This means that MUCF processes and distributes grants within the program areas for which the agency is responsible. MUCF is also the information office for CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) and provides information about grants available within that program.

Description

We are looking for up to two case officers for the International Grants Unit. The positions are located in the International Grants Unit, which belongs to the agency's International Department. The unit is responsible, among other things, for managing and following up on grant funds within the EU programs Erasmus+ Youth and Sport and the European Solidarity Corps, where we distribute 8–10 million euros to 90-120 projects per year.

The department's office is located in Växjö. MUCF believes in a continued flexible working model with the possibility of working partially remotely based on operational needs, up to 40% of working hours. Remote work is planned in consultation with the manager.

Interviews are planned to be conducted during week 26.

Responsibilities

As a case officer here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening young people's voices and participation in society. Your workday will be characterized by collaboration and problem-solving. You will work together with colleagues and external actors to process applications, inform and support applicants and project owners, conduct project visits, and perform control and investigation measures on approved projects.

Main responsibilities include coordinating and processing grant applications and reports from organizations and municipalities within the framework of the EU programs. You will serve as an important support for applicants and project owners by providing guidance, information, and advice throughout the process. The work also includes monitoring approved projects, which may involve project visits and various control and investigation measures to ensure quality and goal achievement. Processing is done in teams and in collaboration with colleagues in the department. A large part of the processing is carried out by external actors; your role includes training and collaborating with them.

As part of the responsibilities, you will monitor instructions from the European Commission and engage in dialogue with colleagues at other national offices in Europe. You will also participate in information dissemination, experience sharing, follow-up, analysis, and reporting work. Work within the framework of other tasks of the department may become relevant. Travel may occur, both within Sweden and within the EU.

Qualifications

You have relevant work experience with at least two years of experience in working at an agency handling cases or at an organization that applies for/receives public grants. You have previous experience working with one of the EU programs Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps. You have a relevant university or college education, preferably legal or social science, or other education/experience that the employer considers equivalent.

You have a documented international interest, preferably through studies or work abroad, and preferably knowledge of international work as well as EU and Swedish youth and civil society policy.

You are structured and can plan your work with a problem-solving approach, which is necessary to handle different processes and solve tasks efficiently.

Work is done in teams, so it is important that you can communicate clearly and collaborate with both colleagues and external actors.

Pedagogical competence and communication skills are significant qualities because the work involves collaboration with several internal teams as well as external actors. You will inform and educate both internal and external stakeholders and be able to explain complex issues in an easy-to-understand way.

You must be able to express yourself very well verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

You have good knowledge of the Office package and are accustomed to familiarizing yourself with and handling different IT systems.

Merits

It is an advantage if you yourself have one or more Youthpasses from projects within the framework of the EU's youth programs. It is also an advantage if you have worked directly with young people as an employee or volunteer. Other language skills besides Swedish and English are also considered a merit.

Conditions

Permanent employment, which normally begins with a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.

MUCF aims to utilize the qualities that a balanced gender distribution and diversity bring to the organization. At MUCF, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in creating a good work environment.
