The County Administrative Board is a driving force for a sustainable society. We work together with authorities, municipalities, businesses, and other actors with a focus on Västra Götaland County and its 1.7 million inhabitants. The County Administrative Board has a broad scope of operations and plays a very important role in several areas of society. This includes, not least, the highly current challenges of regional growth and implementing the green transition, developing civil defence, and nurturing democracy.
The County Administrative Board is a regional state authority with approximately 1,000 employees. We have operations in several locations in Västra Götaland, as well as elsewhere in Sweden, as we are responsible for the IT operations for all County Administrative Boards.
We are now looking for a Planning Case Officer
The position of Planning Case Officer is located within the Society and Planning Unit. The unit consists of three functions: Regional Planning, Planning and Building, and Investment Support. The Planning Case Officer role is within the Planning and Building function, where we are 14 competent and collaboration-oriented employees.
The task of the Planning and Building function is to safeguard and coordinate various state interests and make balanced assessments for sustainable societal development. This is done through work in cross-sectoral preparatory groups and in collaboration primarily with municipalities and state authorities.
Job Description
As a Planning Case Officer, your main tasks will be to process detailed development plans and road and railway plans. It may also become relevant to work with comprehensive plans, network concessions, and cadastral matters, as well as supervisory guidance for building permits and government remits. In addition to the actual exercise of authority, the role involves giving advice and guidance, primarily to our municipalities.
You lead the planning work by drawing on experts from our various subject areas internally at the County Administrative Board, and you collaborate with our state sector authorities.
Depending on interest and competence, there is an opportunity to participate in networks, both regionally and nationally. The opportunities for competence development are generally very good.
Our operations are constantly developing, and you need to be interested in participating in development work, and you need to be flexible in working with adjacent tasks within physical planning.
Location: Gothenburg, Vänersborg, or Mariestad.
We offer good opportunities for remote work for part of the working hours.
Travel is included in the position.
Qualifications
Requirements
- University-level education with a bachelor's degree as an architect, planning architect, urban planner, or equivalent education.
- Some years of work experience within physical planning.
- Good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written.
We would like you to have
- Worked as a case officer within physical planning in the public sector.
- Worked with the processing of detailed development plans and road and railway plans.
- Worked with building permit issues.
- Experience in process leadership.

- Good ability to communicate, both in image, speech, and writing.
- Ability to independently drive the work forward and solve problems.
- Stable and confident in yourself.
