Björlandaskolan is a grades F-6 school located in a beautiful natural setting in northern Torslanda, with opportunities for teaching in our nearby school forest. The sea is within walking distance. We are a school where students, staff, and guardians work together to create good conditions for learning. Approximately 550 students attend the school, and we have about 60 employees. The school's after-school center (fritidshem) is divided into four different sections that we collaborate between.

We are looking for an after-school teacher who is passionate about creating meaningful and developmental activities for our students. You will work at the after-school center with grades 1–2.

We place great emphasis on ensuring that every student and group feels safe in routines, new environments, and contexts. For us, preventive and promoting safety work is important, as is treating each other with respect. We offer organized activities and games during several breaks throughout the week. We have several established and pleasant traditions throughout the year and are also developing our buddy system between classes.

In our school, we work on school development through collegial collaboration. Together, we create a learning organization. We view it as a continuous process to create a good and inclusive learning environment for everyone.

Responsibilities

As an after-school teacher, you work in the classroom or plan afternoon activities during the day. In the afternoons and during holidays, you work in the after-school center. Together with your colleagues, you collaborate to create a red thread through the students' entire day. You have a holistic perspective and work to ensure that learning takes place throughout the day in all situations. You work to motivate and inspire students to learn and support them in their social and academic development.

At Björlandaskolan, you will play a crucial role in the development and well-being of our students. Your main focus will be to create a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn, and grow through play and creative thinking. You will plan and implement activities that encourage cooperation, communication, and personal development. You are important in the collaboration between student, home, and school. Your responsibility includes inspiring the children and creating creative solutions to meet their needs, which will contribute to a positive and developmental leisure time for them.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated and licensed as an after-school teacher. Even if you are studying your final term to become an after-school teacher and are expected to graduate now, you are welcome to apply.

You are a driven and flexible person who is communicative and has a holistic pedagogical view. We value qualities such as responsibility, flexibility, and we are looking for an after-school teacher who is team-oriented and has the best interests of the activity in focus. You are receptive and adapt your work based on the students' needs and interests to create a meaningful leisure activity.

Through stable, warm, and clear leadership, you contribute to creating a safe and stimulating environment for our students. You build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You also have good confidence in the students' competence and can meet them based on their differences and experiences.
