We are looking for you who are a special education teacher and who are passionate about collaborating with others and believe it is important to work in a developmental and salutogenic manner. Through collegial learning and collaboration across boundaries, we gain security and development in teaching, and thus good conditions for the knowledge development of our students.

About the Position

Forshällaskolan is located in the countryside, approximately one mile south of Uddevalla. The school is a three-parallel F-6 school (grades 1-6) with approximately 420 students. The school also has 5 after-school care departments. The number of pedagogical staff at the school is approximately 55. In addition to the pedagogical staff, there is a student health team consisting of a counselor, special educator, school nurse, deputy principal, and principal.

Responsibilities

Together with colleagues, you have an important mission to create conditions for accessible teaching for our students. We start from the premise that the student is not, but becomes, in a context. You enjoy guiding students in their learning through flexible and adapted solutions based on individual needs and abilities.

As a special education teacher, you collaborate closely with our educators and are part of the student health team.

You have a collaborative approach and see benefits in learning from each other so that all students can achieve the best possible knowledge results.

The role includes working preventively to remove obstacles in different learning environments and being a support for students and student groups. You are also a support for teaching teachers in matters related to leadership and stimulation, extra adaptations, and special support. In your work, you collaborate with the school's student health team and work groups.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and planning special education teaching.
• Planning, implementing, assessing, and following up on teaching for individual students/groups who are in need of special support based on identified needs – this is done in collaboration with the responsible and grading teacher.
• Being a support to teachers in designing teaching strategies and adaptations based on students' needs, in collaboration with the special educator.
• Together with teachers, observing students in need of special support and subsequently discussing and analyzing interventions.
• Being involved in pedagogical mapping and investigations, and collaborating with the special educator and teachers to develop and follow up on action plans.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A teacher certification with a focus on primary school (preferably grades 4-6).
• A degree as a special education teacher.

You find it easy to collaborate and are very skilled at creating good and sustainable professional relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are an active and attentive participant in meetings with colleagues and guardians and contribute with competence and professionalism.

You are a driven and self-reliant person who is good at planning your work in a structured way. You express yourself well in writing. You are interested in working to develop the school and improve issues related to student health, and you have a holistic thinking in your solution-focused approach.

It is meritorious if you have several years of experience in similar work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
