About the Department

Rehabilitation medicine provides highly specialized care focused on individuals who have suffered spinal cord injuries or diseases of the spinal cord. Here, you will help create hope for the future for our patients – from the acute stage through the entire rehabilitation process.

We work with person-centered care where the patient's goals are central and set together with our interdisciplinary team. Here, you will have continuity and security – with an average length of stay of about three months, you will truly get to know your patients. We have an open and learning climate where you collaborate with experienced colleagues and specialists such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, and sexologists. Here, you have time for reflection and community – we value growing together, both as a team and as individuals.

Responsibilities

As a rehabilitation instructor, you have a unique and central role in the patient's rehabilitation process. With your own experience of spinal cord injury, you contribute knowledge, understanding, and credibility that make a real difference. You work based on the patient's individual rehabilitation plan and support the patient in achieving increased independence, better health, and a higher quality of life.

You lead and drive training and sports activities both individually and in groups, focusing on motivation, participation, and the joy of movement.

You will also work part of the time at Ward 623, located in Högsbo.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has own lived experience of spinal cord injury (a requirement for the position).
• Has good physical and mental health.
• Has very good knowledge of how your own injury affects function, activity, and participation – both short-term and long-term.
• Has good wheelchair technique and experience with assistive devices.
• Has experience meeting people undergoing major life transitions.

Pedagogical education and experience in conveying knowledge are meritorious.
