The Social Services Department provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for the exercise of official authority, primarily in accordance with the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Services Department has a special responsibility for children, young people, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are approximately 500 employees who, with strength-based approaches, provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equal, fair, and secure manner.

The position and duties

As a residential support worker in a group home within social psychiatry, you have a very important role. You support people in growing towards independence by offering extensive support in different areas of life. You are there for them, supporting them and ensuring they are offered a high quality of life and a sense of coherence. You adapt the support to each person's specific needs and wishes and create a safe environment for them to live and work in. Your duties vary and can sometimes be challenging. You always strive to improve the users' social skills and encourage them to participate in society. The support we offer should have high evidence, be proven, and be legally secure.

Your main duties:

  • Provide emotional support and help the individual manage feelings, well-being, and daily challenges.
  • Provide practical support and motivate daily activities such as cleaning, laundry, shopping, and routines.
  • Plan and carry out activities that promote participation, social contacts, and personal development.
  • Be responsible for medication management according to delegation.
  • Document, create implementation plans together with the individual, and collaborate with networks, relatives, and other professions to ensure coordinated support.

You who apply to us

We are looking for you who are educated as a support pedagogue, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, social worker, behavioral scientist, mental health nurse/assistant nurse, or other equivalent education that the employer considers relevant. You have documented experience from work within social psychiatry or LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), as well as experience working with comorbidity issues in combination with mental illness.

Other requirements for the position are:

  • Experience in using the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, in a professional context.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with methods such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Independent Living (ESL), Low Affective Response (LAB).
  • Knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Secrecy Act.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of neuropsychiatry from LSS.
  • Experience with Signs of Safety.
  • Experience using digital aids.
  • Driver's license class B.

You communicate clearly, build good relationships, and collaborate well with different actors. At the same time, you can work independently when needed.
