In the city center lies Luleå Gymnasieby, a campus area that houses most of the municipal upper secondary schools with nearly 2,400 students. The students at Luleå Gymnasieby are to be given the prerequisites for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership, so that they are prepared for working life and as citizens in general. There are many contacts with the business community, and in the local steering groups, the business community collaborates with the upper secondary school to create good prerequisites for students to be well prepared for the time after upper secondary education.

The upper secondary school also offers specialized courses in mathematics, as well as nationally approved sports programs and the national basketball high school. On the block Örnen, we have a consolidated Sports High School with three study-preparatory programs and one vocational program.

We are now looking for you who want to be part of the continued development of the sports high school's operations and teach our students in social studies, history, and religion. At the school unit, students who are elite athletes participate in RIG, NIU, or LIU education.

Job Description

You will teach social studies, history, and religion primarily on the various courses of the sports program. In the role, you will work in close collaboration with the other teachers at the sports high school. In addition to teaching, work in the program team as well as collaboration with student health services and mentorship is required. You are part of a work team that, together with the principal, will drive the education and ensure quality in the assignments.

Qualifications

You are a certified and qualified upper secondary school teacher in the subjects of social studies, history, and religion. It is also meritorious if you have supervised upper secondary thesis projects.

This job suits you if you have good cooperation skills and the ability to structure and organize. Creating good relationships with both colleagues and students comes naturally to you in your work. You also have good communication skills, can express yourself clearly, professionally, and pedagogically in both speech and writing. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

If you do not have teacher certification in the above-mentioned qualifications, you may still be considered for this position as a school-board employed teacher.

If you are considered for the position, you must be able to provide an extract from the criminal record.
