Job Description

The role of Psychologist at BUP Fagersta includes conducting neuropsychiatric assessments, making evaluations, providing therapy for children, adolescents, and their guardians with various psychiatric issues. You will also be involved in the development of our operations.

Collaboration with social services, schools, and other healthcare partners is a key part of the job.

Newly Qualified Psychologist

For you who are a newly licensed psychologist, we offer a two-year competence package to provide a smoother transition between the role of PTP-psychologist (Psychologist with Specialized Training) and licensed psychologist.

The competence package includes:

• Operation-specific course
• Participation in a national/Nordic congress
• Audit/observation in primary care, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry (total of five days)
• Opportunity to take supervisor training in year 2
• Personal follow-up by an experienced psychologist

About the Workplace

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Västmanland (BUP) is a specialist care clinic for children and adolescents under 18 years of age with mental health issues, as well as their families. Our goal is to provide care tailored to each child's specific needs. We work based on evidence and proven experience, characterized by a health-promoting approach. The activity takes place at outpatient clinics in Köping, Västerås, Sala, and Fagersta. Our county-wide resources are located in Västerås, including inpatient care, an eating disorders unit, and a child psychiatric emergency clinic.

As a psychologist with us at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic in Fagersta, you will be part of a well-functioning team where we work transdisciplinarily together from various professions. There is great competence in the work group and wonderful colleagues to share the workdays with.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist, or alternatively, a PTP-psychologist. We would appreciate it if you have education in psychotherapy. It is meritorious if you have experience working as a psychologist and with children and adolescents, or child psychiatric care. We see it as an advantage if you have experience in both assessment/treatment and diagnostics.

We see that you are a secure, stable person with good self-insight. You collaborate well with others and have a good ability to structure your own work. You have a good ability to make correct judgments and prioritizations and keep your calm in stressful situations. To succeed in the role, you need to have the ability to put yourself in other people's perspectives.
