About the Customer

I am an 18-year-old guy who needs extra support in daily life. I am active and like to keep busy. I live in my own apartment in central Olofström, where there are good bus connections. During the school terms, I attend school and leisure activities, where I communicate using pictures.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. My wheelchair has a third wheel so I can get around almost anywhere. I can stand on my legs and train in my standing frame regularly (at least 60 minutes/day). I love music. Others might get tired of hearing the same songs over and over, but I become happy and calm from music I recognize. Routines are important to me, and my assistants work systematically throughout the day to create clarity.

Since I do not have a spoken language, there can sometimes be some frustration. It is important that you notice early signs and can distract me in time. It is important that I know what is going to happen and feel prepared. When people do not understand me, I can become "lightning-fast angry" and maybe throw something on the floor or wave my arms around. In those moments, it is important that you, as an assistant, stay calm and do not get scared. Just as quickly as I get angry, I become happy again. I always have a fox behind my ear; I like humor and laughter.

Who are you applying for the job?

You who apply are welcome to enjoy being active, while it is also important that you can take things calmly. You need to be stable and perceptive; it is an advantage if you have experience with autism and challenging behavior. Most importantly, you need to stand firm on the ground and have your heart in the right place. Here you have a chance to make a difference for a young guy entering adulthood.

Job Duties and Working Hours

The position is for a temporary/summer replacement covering days, evenings, awake nights, and weekends. Working hours will be school days Monday to Friday: 08:30-19:30, 14:30-21:30, and 21:15-09:10.
