About the Role
We are looking for an Economist/Financial Analyst for a university institution in Gothenburg! As an Economist, you will serve as a financial advisor to managers and project leaders. You will be responsible for accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations, as well as working with budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, and analysis of projects and operations. You will also handle project reporting to funders, interpret contractual terms, and participate in budget and annual reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure sound accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations
• Budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, and analysis of projects and operations
• Financial project reporting to funders
• Participate in the institution's budgeting and annual reporting
• Interpret terms from funders and other contracting parties

Duration and Scope:
The position as Economist is a full-time consultancy assignment starting on 2026-08-17 and is expected to run until 2027-07-02. There is a possibility of extension for an additional 6+6 months.

Requirements:

• Academic degree in economics, Vocational Higher Education (YH), or equivalent
• Experience in qualified financial work
• Experience with accounting, budgeting, and annual reporting
• Experience working with financial and administrative support systems
• Good proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previously documented experience in responsibility for entire financial processes
• Experience with project accounting

• Experience working with the support systems Raindance and Hypergene
