About the Workplace

Helsingborg City as an employer has approximately 10,000 employees and 470 managers. The City Management Administration is one of nine administrations and is led by our two Deputy City Managers. To be able to carry out our mission, we are organized into seven different departments. Our administration has an important and exciting mission where we exist for others – for colleagues, other administrations, the citizens of Helsingborg, and businesses, to name a few. The City Management Administration is to lead, develop, and coordinate the municipality's operations within overarching and common areas, offer services and products requested by the Municipal Executive Board, administrations, and companies, including common functions that target the citizens of Helsingborg directly, and create conditions for a positive development of Helsingborg in collaboration with external partners.

Responsibilities

The student issue today involves much more than marketing or recruitment. It is about how Helsingborg develops as an attractive, inclusive, and sustainable city for students, and how student life becomes a natural part of the city's long-term development potential. As an operational Business Developer, you will be the engine in the work with Student City Helsingborg. The role is to reduce fragmentation, strengthen the cohesive perspective, and ensure that the student issue is integrated into the city's strategic societal development.

You will hold the overall responsibility for the student city issue and function as a hub for student associations and student unions, Campus Helsingborg, Lund University, and other key actors.

This is an operational role with strategic height. You need to be able to switch between coordination in everyday life and long-term development, between relationships, activities, agreements, collaboration, and strategic perspectives.

The role is to create continuity, presence, and direction in the daily work and contribute to Student City Helsingborg developing as a cohesive and long-term initiative.

In the role, you will among other things:

• Coordinate the city's student-related assignments and efforts within Student City Helsingborg
• Build and develop relationships with student associations and unions, Campus Helsingborg, Lund University, and other collaboration actors
• Plan, coordinate, and implement joint activities and student city events
• Ensure collaboration between relevant actors both internally and externally
• Follow up on agreements, deliveries, economy, and results related to the student city assignment
• Identify development opportunities and contribute to the long-term development of Helsingborg as a student city
• Contribute to strengthening students' relationship with Helsingborg during their studies and further into working life

Qualifications

You are a person who can work operationally close to the business while simultaneously seeing the larger strategic perspectives. You enjoy creating structure in complex contexts and have the ability to turn ideas and ambitions into concrete action.

To succeed in the role, we believe you:

• Have experience of coordination, project management, or development work in complex organizations
• Have substantial experience of student life
• Are confident in working cross-sectorially and relationally
• Have a good ability to create trust and collaboration between different actors
• Are self-reliant, structured, and communicative
• Are a "doer" who gets things done and is driven by delivering results
