Chief Operating Officer sought for Swegreen

Swegreen is a Swedish foodtech company that develops circular systems for local, indoor-based food production. Through our Farming-as-a-Service model, we enable the cultivation of fresh crops directly at the customer's location – in shops, restaurants, and properties. About the Role

As COO, you are responsible for the production, delivery, installation, commissioning, and operation of customers' growing systems according to contracts, technical requirements, and established service levels. The role takes over when the sales team has signed a customer contract and is thereafter responsible for the entire operational chain – from production and installation planning to service, monitoring, and continuous optimization of active growing systems.

You will lead installation and commissioning projects from planning to final delivery, ensuring that systems are installed on time, within budget, and according to Swegreen's technical standards. The role involves close collaboration with suppliers, installation partners, technical teams, and Customer Success to ensure high quality throughout the delivery chain. After the customer's formal delivery approval, the focus shifts to stable operation, technical service, preventive maintenance, and data-driven control of the growing systems.

An important part of the role is to work proactively with monitoring and analysis of system data to identify deviations, prioritize actions, and ensure that similar installations deliver consistent and predictable performance over time. You are also responsible for developing and standardizing processes, routines, and working methods for installation, service, and operation, as well as creating an operational organization that can grow in tandem with the company.

You have formal personnel responsibility for a technician in your team, report to the CEO, and collaborate closely with functions such as sales, Hardware and Software Product Owners, manufacturing and installation partners, and Customer Success.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have experience leading complex operational activities within areas such as technical installations, industrial systems, service organizations, or construction and infrastructure projects. You are accustomed to coordinating multiple stakeholders simultaneously and feel confident making decisions based on data, analysis, and business-critical priorities.

To succeed in the role, you need to be structured, solution-oriented, and have the ability to create clarity and progress even in complex environments. You thrive at the intersection of technology, business, and operational delivery and have experience building scalable processes and efficient ways of working.

Desirable – Technical Areas

• Experience with greenhouses, vertical farming, or food production.
• Basic programming for PLC or IoT systems.
• Experience with digital monitoring and sensor data systems.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient operation.

The position requires a driver's license and the ability to travel throughout Sweden, as well as good spoken and written Swedish and English.
