What many consider waste is for us the beginning of something new – do you want to help create tomorrow's resources?

At Gärstad, we handle large quantities of materials every day, giving them new life through recycling, energy recovery, and smart resource management. Here, residual products are converted into heat, electricity, and new resources that society needs to function – in everyday life and for the future. As part of Tekniska verken, we are driving the transition to a more sustainable society. By utilizing resources, developing circular flows, and creating sustainable energy solutions, we contribute to making life easier for people and strengthening society for the future.

We are now looking for several new colleagues for our operations in Gärstad. We are looking for you who have experience in machine operation, focusing on wheel loaders, telescopic handlers, or material handlers, and who want to be part of an operation where your work makes a difference every day.

What you will do

Depending on your experience and background, you may work in different parts of the operation, for example as a wheel loader driver, telescopic handler operator, or material handler.

What the roles have in common is that you contribute to ensuring our material flows operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably. You work close to the operations and play a key role in ensuring the right material ends up in the right place at the right time.

The tasks may include, among other things:

  • handling and moving materials with a wheel loader or telescopic machine
  • receiving, sorting, and processing incoming materials using a material handler
  • unloading containers and vehicles with a telescopic handler
  • supplying our processes with materials and fuel
  • administering and coordinating pickups, transports, and material flows
  • contributing to order, safety, and quality in daily operations

The work is performed both independently and together with colleagues in an operation where collaboration, responsibility, and safety are crucial for success.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who thrive in a practical role where you take responsibility and are close to the operations. You like to get things working, see what needs to be done, and take initiative when needed.

To succeed with us, we believe you are structured and quality-conscious. You have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a way that creates both order and safety in everyday life.

You are a team player who collaborates well with others, while also taking responsibility for your own tasks. You communicate clearly, contribute to a good work climate, and understand the importance of all parts of the operation functioning together.

Experience you bring and share with us

We are looking for you who have experience in material handling and working with machines in industrial, recycling, waste management, or similar operations.

For some of our roles, you have the required qualifications and experience with:

  • wheel loaders
  • telescopic handlers
  • material handlers
  • excavators

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement for the position.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • experience from recycling, waste management, or industrial operations
  • CE driving license
  • YKB (Swedish certificate for construction equipment)

Our responsibility is an everyday life that works. Ensuring water, electricity, and heat reach their destinations, that waste is managed, and that cities and countryside remain connected. Every day, year-round – even when conditions change.

To deliver, we turn consumed resources into new resources and develop solutions that work over time. Behind this work are our 1,100 employees.

With us, you have the opportunity to develop, take responsibility, and make a difference. Together, we build a society that holds – for everyday life and for tomorrow.
