Description
Welcome to Gärdsåsskolan! We are now looking for a special needs educator who, together with us, wants to create the best conditions for every student to reach their full potential. Gärdsåsskolan has large, bright, and spacious premises with good connections via Kortedala Square. Approximately 300 students attend our middle and upper secondary levels.
To achieve high goal fulfillment and continuously develop the school's operations, our educators have a desire to further educate themselves and stay updated with the latest research.
Digitalization is, for example, something we work with in various ways. The students at the school have access to their own Chromebook and work with Gleerup's digital learning materials.
We work in work teams with a focus on the student and the student's knowledge development. We have high expectations of our students and of ourselves.
At Gärdsåsskolan, there is cultural and linguistic diversity. The students have different backgrounds; they come from different parts of the world, and living conditions vary. In the school, they meet on equal terms.
The knowledge and experiences that the students bring with them are often used in teaching. This makes diversity a resource, making them better equipped for today's cultural diversity.
Responsibilities
As a special needs educator at Gärdsåsskolan (grades 4–6), you work at the organizational, group, and individual levels with a focus on promoting and preventive measures. You are an important resource in the work of following up, evaluating, and further developing the school's routines and structures for students in need of support.
You work systematically to increase student goal fulfillment and have overall responsibility for documentation, where we use the systems PMO and V-klass. The role includes paying special attention to students at risk of not meeting the knowledge requirements and ensuring they receive the support they need. The work also includes pedagogical mapping, drawing up action plans, as well as contact with guardians and external actors.
You are part of the school's student health team together with the principal, deputy principals, special needs educators, counselors, school nurse, psychologist, and school social worker. You also collaborate closely with the school's special teachers.
The position is a permanent full-time (100%) position and is a vacation coverage position.
Qualifications
For the position, you are required to be a trained and licensed teacher and have specialized training in special needs education. Experience in special needs education, where documentation in the systems PMO and V-klass has been part of the work, is meritorious.
You are a good educator who can adapt your teaching to the student's needs. You are clear in your communication and get hearing for thoughts and ideas and can influence decisions in a certain direction. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. You can change how you work when things change, and you can quickly change your perspective and approach, seeing opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you are structured by planning, organizing, and prioritizing the work in an efficient manner. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results.
Does the description fit you? We welcome your application!
The position is appointed subject to the condition that it is not taken for internal reasons.
