Description

The Mother Tongue Unit is a city-wide operation within Child and Student Support in Trollhättan Municipality. Here, mother tongue teachers and study advisors work together to support students' linguistic and knowledge development.

We teach nearly 2,000 students in approximately 30 different languages every week. We are now looking for a mother tongue teacher for the Mother Tongue Unit in Trollhättan Municipality.

Responsibilities

As a mother tongue teacher, you will:

• teach students in their mother tongue according to current curricula
• plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching
• adapt teaching to students' individual needs and prerequisites
• teach on a mobile basis at various schools in Trollhättan
• collaborate with colleagues, school staff, and guardians as needed

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has very good proficiency in the mother tongue and Swedish
• has experience teaching in primary and/or upper secondary school
• has strong pedagogical skills and can adapt teaching to the needs of different students
• is computer literate and can use digital tools in teaching and documentation, such as Studybee and Google Classroom
• is responsible, flexible, cooperative, and thrives in a varied work environment across different school settings

A teaching degree, Swedish or foreign, is meritorious. If the degree is from abroad, it must be validated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (Universitets- och högskolerådet).

Employment Information

• Employment type: Fixed-term appointment (special fixed-term) from 2026-08-12 to 2027-06-17.
• Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis; the position may be filled before the application deadline.
• A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required for work with children.
• The employment is for a limited period, with the possibility of extension during the next school year if the need persists.
