About the Role
As the Operational Manager with Treatment Responsibility, you have the overarching responsibility for leading, ensuring quality, and developing the treatment work at Smultronbacken HVB. The role combines operational leadership with close involvement in the daily operations, including active participation in the children's daily lives and support for staff in their daily treatment work.
You are responsible for ensuring that the facility's treatment interventions are carried out in accordance with current legislation, assignments from the social services, as well as Smultronbacken's methodology and value base. The role is central to creating structure, quality, and continuity in the operations and for translating operational goals into practical treatment work.
The position involves working in the facility according to a rotating schedule with both day and evening shifts to ensure leadership and presence during the facility's most critical times.
Main Responsibilities
To lead, coordinate, and develop the treatment work at Smultronbacken HVB by:
- Ensuring high quality in treatment, care, and documentation.
- Mentoring and supporting staff in treatment work.
- Developing the facility's methods, routines, and working practices.
- Ensuring the facility operates in accordance with legislation, BBIC, and the facility's permit.
- Contributing to a safe, structured, and predictable environment for the children.
- Being a present and operational leader in the facility.
Areas of Responsibility
Operational Leadership
- Lead and distribute daily work in the facility.
- Ensure staffing, structure, and quality in daily work.
- Act as support for staff in complex treatment and care situations.
- Introduce, coach, and develop staff.
- Ensure that facility routines are followed.
- Participate actively in the facility's work with the children.
Responsibility for Treatment Work
- Overall responsibility for treatment planning and treatment processes.
- Ensure that implementation plans are created, followed up on, and developed.
- Quality-assure treatment interventions and method usage.
- Ensure that work is conducted based on:
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Low-Affect Approach (LAB)
- Environmental Therapy
- Clarifying Pedagogy
- Structured Conversation Therapy
- BBIC
- Be responsible for treatment conferences and follow-ups.
- Provide methodological support and supervision to the staff group.
Documentation and Quality
- Ensure quality in case recording and documentation.
- Review and quality-assure:
- Investigations
- Summaries
- Implementation plans
- Risk assessments
- Follow-ups
- Ensure that documentation meets requirements from legislation and supervisory authorities.
- Contribute to internal quality reviews and operational development.
Collaboration
- Be the facility's primary contact person in treatment matters.
- Collaborate with:
- Social Services
- Schools
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS/BUP)
- Healthcare
- Foster Homes
- Guardians
- Other collaborating actors
- Participate in SIP meetings, follow-ups, and network meetings.
Operational Development
- Identify areas for development and improvement needs.
- Implement new working methods and treatment approaches.
- Contribute to building a learning organization.
- Plan and carry out competence-enhancing measures for the staff group.
- Participate in the facility's strategic development together with the facility manager and leadership.

Qualifications (Requirements)
- Social work degree or other relevant higher education that the employer deems equivalent.
- At least five years of experience in psychosocial treatment work with children and young people.
- Experience from HVB (residential care) facilities, social services, or other operations targeting this group.
- Experience in leading, supervising, or coordinating staff.
- Very good documentation skills.
- Good knowledge of:
- Social Services Act (SoL)
- Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU)
- BBIC
- UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
- Category B driver's license.
Merits
- Experience as a treatment responsible person, group leader, or unit manager.
- Education in leadership.
- Education in:
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Low-Affect Approach (LAB)
- Environmental Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)
- ADHD/Autism-adapted working methods
- Experience in launching or developing HVB facilities.
Employment Terms
- Permanent employment with a six-month probation period.
- Operational manager role with treatment responsibility.
- Rotating schedule with presence in the facility during both day and evening hours.
- Alternating weeks of day shifts and evening shifts.
- On-call duty and standby may be included as needed.
- Location: Smultronbacken HVB, Gothenburg.
The Role in the Organization
The Operational Manager with Treatment Responsibility serves as the central link between leadership, the staff group, and placing social services. The role is responsible for ensuring that the treatment work maintains high quality while the facility develops and staff receive the support needed to succeed in their assignments.
The goal is to ensure that every child placed at Smultronbacken HVB encounters a safe, professional, and well-organized facility where treatment, care, and development go hand in hand.
