As a budget and debt advisor, you work to provide support, advice, and guidance to individuals who are experiencing financial difficulties or are at risk of falling into debt. The work may involve everything from creating an overview of personal finances to providing support before debt adjustment and contacts with authorities, creditors, and other actors.
You will, among other things, work with:

The work is both independent and collaboration-oriented. You need to be able to meet people in vulnerable life situations with respect, clarity, and patience.
Our Way of Working
Within IFA, we work with Signs of Safety (SOFS) as a common approach. This means that we focus on participation, transparency, networks, resources, and clear goals together with the individual.
As a budget and debt advisor, this means that you not only look at problems and risks, but also at what works, what strengths exist, and what support can be built around the person. We believe that people grow through clarity, participation, and concrete steps forward.
The position is located at the Support and Employment unit within Individual, Family, and Work (IFA) in Båstad Municipality.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a relevant university education, for example in economics, law, social work, social sciences, or other education that the employer considers equivalent.
It is meritorious if you have experience of:
- budget and debt counseling
- work with debt adjustment
- social work or authority-proximity support work
- work within municipal operations
- collaboration with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, or other authorities
- conversation support, guidance, or change work
You need to have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, be able to work systematically, and have an easy time building trust in meetings with people. A driver's license is required.
Personal Qualities
To succeed in the assignment, you need to be secure, sensitive, and pedagogical. You can explain complex financial contexts in a simple and understandable way. You have the ability to create structure even in complex situations and can help the individual take steps in the right direction without taking over the responsibility. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
