Project Manager for Peer Mentoring, 25% permanent position
Content and Responsibilities
As the Project Manager for the peer mentoring activities, you will play a central role in a temporary development project tasked with establishing, developing, and implementing a program featuring social mentors/peers for students. You will be responsible for designing structures, working methods, and content from the ground up, as well as planning, executing, and monitoring initiatives.
The purpose of the project is to strengthen students' opportunities to create social connections and feel a sense of belonging in their study environment through mentoring and introductory activities. The target group includes new students as well as students in need of support to engage in social activities. The work has a promoting and preventive focus, aiming to counteract loneliness, enhance student well-being, and create better conditions for a sustainable and successful study path.
You will work in a small team consisting of a coordinator for student peer mentoring and other functions within the Student Centre. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the student union, faculties, and external actors.
The project is temporarily funded, so we are looking for someone who can independently drive development work, create structure, and build sustainable networks, while also thriving in an operational role where you carry out activities and events.
The role includes, among other things:
- leading and developing the project
- planning and conducting major introductory and study-social events
- coordinating and supporting mentors and peers
- building and maintaining networks within the university, the city, and the non-profit sector
- monitoring and evaluating the activities and contributing to method development
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we are looking for you who have:
- a degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
- extensive experience working with young adults in a similar context
- experience in voluntary work or working as a coordinator within the non-profit sector
- experience in a supervisory role within study-social support
- experience in planning, organizing, and conducting major events
- extensive knowledge of Malmö University
You have good collaboration skills, are structured and proactive, and possess strong communication skills. You are accustomed to working independently and take responsibility for moving the work forward.
It is meritorious if you have worked at Malmö University and have an established network at the institution, in the City of Malmö, and within the region's non-profit activities.
