We are looking for an engaged craft teacher who wants to teach students in grades 4–9 and spark curiosity in both textile crafts and wood and metal crafts. Here you will make a real difference – in the classroom, in preparatory classes, and in special education groups – together with colleagues in a safe and developmental learning environment.

Sverkerskolan is a school (F-9) located in the heart of Luthagen. The lower primary school is housed in two beautiful school buildings from the early 1900s. The school has expanded upwards in age groups in nearby premises that have also been renovated. Sverkerskolan has long been an stimulating and developmental environment for students and staff. The school has a long tradition of pedagogical development and innovation. The school's staff consists of many different specialist functions that contribute to a diversity of competence and perspectives.

Description of duties

As a teacher in this position, you will teach the subject of crafts in grades 4–9. We would like you to have the competence to teach both textile crafts and wood and metal crafts. The assignment also includes teaching crafts in our preparatory class and special education group.

You are given the opportunity to make a real difference for our students by contributing your competence, knowledge, and engagement. With the student's learning and development at the center, you work to ensure the school reaches its goals. You plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching in accordance with the curriculum and other regulatory documents, in close collaboration with colleagues.

Together, you create a safe and stimulating learning environment where all students are given the conditions to thrive and develop based on their individual needs. You have a particular interest in motivating students and adapting teaching, not least for students in need of special support.

Qualifications

For this position, you need a Swedish teaching license or are awaiting a license for the specified grades and subjects. We also expect you to have good knowledge of the school's regulatory documents and the primary school curriculum. Good oral and written skills in Swedish are a prerequisite for the position. Previous experience working with language-developing methods is meritorious. IT skills with a focus on pedagogical work are also considered meritorious.

We are looking for you who are pedagogical, proactive, and have a good understanding that students have different ways of acquiring knowledge. You are flexible, solution-focused, and see opportunities in changes.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
