About the Workplace

Helsingborg Municipality, as an employer, has approximately 10,000 employees and 470 managers. The City Management Administration is one of nine departments and is led by our Deputy City Manager. To carry out our mission, we are organized into seven different divisions. Our administration has an important and exciting mission where we serve others – colleagues, other administrations, the citizens of Helsingborg, and businesses, to name a few. The City Management Administration is responsible for leading, developing, and coordinating the municipality's operations in overarching and common areas; offering services and products requested by the municipal executive board, administrations, and companies, including common functions directed directly at the citizens of Helsingborg; and creating conditions for positive development of Helsingborg in collaboration with external partners.

The Division of Economics and Control is located at Drottninggatan 14 in central Helsingborg. Currently, 19 people work at the Economics Unit, jointly responsible for the city's overall accounting and reporting, cash handling, customer and supplier accounting, foundation administration, back-office support for the city's finance department, as well as ongoing accounting and follow-up. We work with a large number of different IT systems such as Unit4 ERP, QlikSense, and naturally Excel and the rest of the Office package.

Job Responsibilities

At the Economics Unit, you will be involved in various tasks and will, for example, learn to work with supplier accounting, customer accounting, and ongoing reporting. We are looking for you who are studying economics at the university/college level and wish to combine practical work with your studies. We prefer that you have 2–3 years remaining in your education. You will work with us 1 day/week during the terms and also have the opportunity to take a summer temporary position.

You are structured, detail-oriented, take initiative, and enjoy working with varied tasks. We are looking for you who want to work part-time (1 day/week) in parallel with your continued studies.

Qualifications

• Ongoing university/college education in economics.

We are looking for you who have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others to achieve common goals. You are analytical, detail-oriented, and have the ability to handle tasks in a structured and responsible manner. You express yourself fluently in spoken and written Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have at least two years of work experience.

Other Information

Before you start your employment as a student employee, you will be offered an introduction during August equivalent to two weeks of full-time work.
