Job Description
We offer a crucial role where you are a key player in managing finances and contracts. You will be part of the Property Management Unit, where 9 economic managers work. You will collaborate closely both within the unit and across City Properties. We share extensive experience and continuously develop our joint working methods.
As an Economic Manager, your main responsibilities include managing the section's finances, rental agreements, customer orders, and property economic analyses. Your tasks involve financial reconciliations, economic reviews with managers, renegotiation of rental agreements, forecasting, and analysis.
You will belong to the Housing Section, where your focus will be on premises used by other city administrations. The property portfolio within your area of responsibility includes the Health, Care and Social Care Administration, the Support for People with Disabilities Administration, and the Employment and Social Services Administration. Our economy consists of an annual operating budget for our properties and planned maintenance measures.
We offer a free and varied work environment where you are responsible for planning your own work and days, supported by a work climate and colleagues characterized by quality awareness and mutual care.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university/college education of 180 ECTS credits as a Property Economist or other equivalent education and experience deemed comparable. You must have at least 3 years of experience working with property economic issues. Good knowledge of Swedish (spoken and written), good computer skills, system proficiency, and a B-driver's license are requirements for the position. Experience in property economic analyses and experience with budgeting and follow-up are considered a great plus. It is also an advantage if you have competence/training in the Land Code, rental law, and/or property law, as well as experience in rental negotiations.
To thrive with us, we believe you are a structured and non-hierarchical person with a numerical mind who enjoys a high work pace. You see the details while understanding the big picture. The role involves many contacts, both within the section and with other units, tenants, and administrations, requiring good communication skills. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy collaborating while being self-reliant and taking responsibility for your tasks. You are also driven by developing both the business and yourself. In this role, rapid changes may occur, so it is important that you can work efficiently under pressure and maintain a positive attitude. Accepting constructive feedback and learning from it is second nature to you.
Since everything Malmö City does is based on our core values; respect, engagement, and creativity, it is important and crucial that these values feel just as natural to you as they do to us in our work.
