Job Responsibilities

In the role of Budget and Debt Advisor, you will provide support and individual counseling to clients seeking advice, particularly regarding budgeting and debt issues. You will also play a key role in the debt adjustment process. This may involve supporting applications for debt adjustment, appealing decisions regarding debt adjustment, or handling reviews. As an advisor, you will support and motivate clients throughout the entire process.

The role also includes receiving clients at our drop-in center for personal financial counseling, as well as staying updated on current developments and any regulatory changes. Documentation is a natural part of the job alongside client meetings.

You will also work with outward-facing initiatives, which means you will have the opportunity to lecture for various target groups, build and maintain networks, and collaborate with other professional groups.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a university degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Political Science, Law, or equivalent education as determined by the employer. You should also have experience in public administration and be able to express yourself well in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have good knowledge of insolvency law and personal finance, as well as experience working with insolvency law. Experience working in other authorities (such as the Swedish Enforcement Authority, the Swedish Tax Agency, or the Swedish Social Insurance Agency) is also considered an advantage.

To thrive in this role, you should have strong skills in meeting, communicating with, and building trust with different individuals. Furthermore, you are empathetic and motivating when interacting with clients, and you value providing counseling characterized by respect for the client. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and can quickly adjust your perspective and actions. You are responsible and have a high degree of teamwork ability.

You consistently maintain high quality in your work and have good skills in independent planning. Sometimes the pace is fast, and it is important that you can handle these situations with calmness and a positive attitude.

You feel confident and comfortable speaking in front of larger groups and have the ability to convey information in a pedagogical manner.

About the Workplace

This section belongs to the Support and Intervention department. The mission of the Budget and Debt Advisory service is to contribute to preventing debt problems and helping indebted individuals find solutions to their situations through various forms of economic counseling. Clients should be able to receive both short-term and long-term economic rehabilitation.
