Description
Gamlestadsskolan is a primary and lower secondary school (grades F-9) located in the historic Gamlestaden district, serving children and students primarily from the local area and Eastern Gothenburg. The Gamlestaden district is currently undergoing a period of significant expansion with several planned projects aimed at making it one of Gothenburg's most important hubs for transport, housing, and services in the future.
Approximately 580 students attend Gamlestadsskolan in grades F-9, and we also have four after-school centers where our youngest students receive care. The school is organized into smaller units within the larger school structure to foster closeness and ensure every student feels seen. We actively work to create a "We-feeling" where teachers and students share responsibility for the school environment and well-being.
We are now looking for a special needs teacher in mathematics, Swedish, and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) with qualifications to teach grades 4–6!
Responsibilities
In the role of a special needs teacher, you will collaborate with primary school teachers to provide students with the guidance and stimulation they need for their learning and personal development. The goal is for students to develop as far as possible according to educational objectives, based on their individual prerequisites. You will also provide special pedagogical support interventions and teach both individually and in groups. Together with the school's special educator and special needs teachers, you will drive the development of pedagogical work, focusing specifically on meeting the needs of all children and students.
Our vision is "Together we learn and develop to help improve the world." This requires us all to truly work together, be willing to learn new things, and constantly strive for improvements, big or small. This is a vision for everyone – both staff and students. Do you want to join us on this journey?
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are educated and licensed as a special needs teacher in mathematics, Swedish, and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA), with the eligibility to teach grades 4–6.
You take responsibility for your tasks and joint responsibilities, always keeping the best interests of the operation in focus. You take your duties seriously, are committed to completing what you start, and ensure that work is done correctly. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You operate from the principle of equal value for all and create a positive atmosphere in interactions. You have an open and positive attitude, using students' needs as the starting point for your actions.
You can overview your own area of responsibility and place your specific operations in a broader context. You show interest in and collaborate on overarching issues to create added value. You take into account various sources of information and perspectives and can adapt others' ideas to your own operations. You have the ability to share information and ideas, both orally and in writing. You express the core of an argument clearly and effectively. You adapt your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation.
You gain energy from contributing to others' learning and creating conditions for learning to take place. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you promote a respectful working climate. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole.
We look forward to receiving your application!
