The Unit for Coordination of Market Surveillance is part of the Department of Legal and Trade Affairs. The department handles various issues both internally within the authority and externally with other authorities, the Government Offices, organizations, and companies. The Unit for Coordination of Market Surveillance has special responsibility for serving as the secretariat for the Market Surveillance Committee and for the role as the Swedish Central Coordination Body according to the EU Market Surveillance Regulation.
We are now looking for one or two new employees for the unit for permanent positions.
The Position
The duties include, among other things, actively contributing to fulfilling Swedac's tasks as the Central Coordination Body and the secretariat for the Market Surveillance Committee. The work involves analyzing proposals for new regulations, assisting in interpreting regulations, supporting the Government Offices in related matters, and collaborating with authorities and other actors within Sweden and internationally. Other examples of tasks include planning and conducting meetings in the committee and its working groups, participating in groups within the EU's work concerning market surveillance and related issues, as well as administering and training in various reporting systems. The positions involve travel within Sweden, but international travel may also occur.
Your Profile
You who apply should have:
- A law degree as a primary qualification, but you may also have education in political science or other equivalent education that the employer, together with your work experience, assesses as relevant.
- At least three years of experience in legal work within the public sector.
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and oral, and good ability to express yourself in English, both written and oral.
- Experience in EU legal work.
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Experience working with digitalization and AI tools.
- Experience leading working groups or projects.
- Experience developing and conducting training and other information initiatives.
It is essential that you have very good collaboration skills and the ability to build good relationships, while also being able to work independently. You need to have very good initiative and be interested in sharing your knowledge. You are interested in digitalization issues, are proactive, have a holistic view, are flexible, and meticulous. It is important that you have the ability to contextualize law in different settings and that you have a genuine interest in working with other professional categories. You should be able to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks and areas of operations, and it is important that you also have the ability to understand how you can best support the authority's mission with your knowledge.

The Board of Accreditation and Technical Control (Swedac)
Swedac is a government authority working to ensure that products and services are safe. As an accreditation body, we assess the competence of organizations that perform testing, calibration, certification, and control, among other things. We are also responsible for regulations and supervision of weights, measures, and precious metals. Swedac coordinates market surveillance in Sweden, and we are the national notifying authority in Sweden. We have a large national and international network of contacts.
