We are looking for you who want to make a real difference for children and families in an important and meaningful role. If you have a secure and professional approach and the ability to create stability in complex situations, you might be our new colleague!
Supervised contact (Umgängestöd) is a measure within the Social Services in Norrköping Municipality, tasked with creating safe conditions for children to meet their parents when contact cannot take place without support. The activity is aimed at children and parents who do not live together and where, for various reasons, there is a need for the presence of social services to ensure the child's safety.
The measure is based on decisions on assistance according to the Social Services Act or court decisions. The work always starts from the best interests of the child and aims to strengthen the child's sense of well-being, security, and predictability during the contact.
With us, you become part of a stable and experienced work group consisting of six dedicated colleagues and an active team leader. Collaboration, support, and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life and contribute to structure, security, and continuity in the work.
Your responsibilities
The role of supervised contact involves a responsible and meaningful assignment where you act as a secure support for both the child and the parent during the contact. You have a professional and calm approach and can balance presence with giving space for the relationship between the child and the parent.
The role includes observing, supporting, and guiding as needed to ensure that the contact takes place in a way that is safe and compatible with the best interests of the child. You need to be able to handle different situations in a respectful and stable manner and collaborate closely with colleagues and the team leader within the activity. It also includes daily case recording based on the contact, summaries to the Family Court, and written planning.
An important part of the assignment is cooperation with other activities and authorities, such as the Social Services' authority exercise, the Family Court, and the Foster Care Unit. You need to be able to communicate professionally and contribute to a shared responsibility for the child.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work, a bachelor's degree in behavioral science or social pedagogy, or alternatively another education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience in social work, preferably experience in working with children and families, and good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Experience in authority exercise within social work is meritorious.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have a genuine commitment to children and families and a good ability to create security and trust in meetings with people. You are calm, stable, and secure in yourself even in emotionally challenging situations.
You are relationship-building, sensitive, and empathetic, and have the ability to meet people in different life situations with respect and professionalism. Furthermore, you have good judgment and can make independent and well-founded decisions based on the best interests of the child and the activity's assignment.
You have good collaboration skills but also take personal responsibility for your work. We also see that you have self-insight and understanding of how your approach affects other people.
Welcome with your application!
