Job Responsibilities

As a communicator at Nynäshamn Municipality, you will have a broad and developing assignment where you work close to the operations and contribute to creating clear, relevant, and target-group-adapted communication. You have a strategic holistic perspective and the ability to turn plans into concrete and effective communication initiatives.

The role is varied and includes an operationally close assignment where you support one of our administrations. You are involved in extensive development work where communication plays a central role in creating direction and driving change. You support administration leadership and key functions in everything from message formulation and change communication to media relations and channel development.

You also contribute in other contexts, for example in municipality-wide projects or by supporting other support functions in their communication work.

About the Workplace

The Municipal Executive Board Administration's assignment is to lead, coordinate, and follow up on the municipality's operations. We ensure that the municipality functions efficiently and that residents receive the service they need, while supporting elected officials and administrations.

At the Communications Unit, we are six employees and a communications manager who work closely together, share knowledge and experiences, and support each other in daily work. We have a non-hierarchical approach, stand up for each other, and have fun at work! Together we drive the development of the municipality's communication and contribute with both strategic and operational support to the operations.

We sit in pleasant premises in the town hall in central Nynäshamn, with the possibility to work remotely part of the time.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in the role, you have:

• a university degree in media and communication science, journalism, or other education combined with experience that the employer deems equivalent,
• several years of experience in qualified communication work,
• experience working operationally close in a supporting and advisory role,
• experience coaching managers in communication issues, for example during change processes and development projects,
• experience with media relations, including working both proactively and reactively with press and media,
• good digital competence and experience producing content for different channels such as websites, social media, and digital newsletters,
• very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience from a politically governed organization,
• experience with crisis communication,
• experience working with web publishing in Sitevision,
• interest in and experience with new working methods related to digitalization and AI.
