We offer you, as a student starting semester 6 of the nursing program and choosing to start your career with us after your studies, the opportunity to apply for a study loan during your final semester (semester 6).

As a newly graduated nurse at our Neurosurgery Department 85E, you will get a educational and secure foundation to stand on with varied tasks and an educational start in your new profession. Sometimes the step between education and working life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us at Akademiska Hospital.

KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for you as a newly graduated nurse employed in Region Uppsala, aiming to help you sharpen your clinical skills, network with other newly graduated nurses, and have reflection time together with experienced nurses. Our Operations

At the Neuro Department, we provide highly specialized care for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system and eye diseases. We work with investigation and diagnostics as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute conditions and chronic diseases of the nervous system and eyes. The department is divided into the sections of neurosurgery, neurology, eye diseases, and clinical neurophysiology.

At our neurosurgery unit 85E, you as a newly graduated nurse will work with neurosurgery on our neurosurgical care ward 85E. At 85E, you will meet acute neurosurgical patients and elective patients who are cared for on the ward before and after surgery. The ward has a varied pace with time for personal reflection. Here you develop knowledge and understanding regarding the care of the neurosurgical patient.

In parallel with clinical operations, we conduct high activity in research, education, and development in close collaboration with Uppsala University and the business community. Our vision is to be nationally and internationally leading in care, research, and teaching within the neuro field and eye diseases.

Your Competence

You are a nursing student studying semester 6. You are interested in working in teams regarding acute and complex disease conditions. You have a flexible and curious approach and good teamwork skills.

You are responsive and responsible. You seek help when needed and see the importance of good communication. You choose with your heart and want to start working at TOPPEN after completing your degree. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We Offer

We offer you a permanent position as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse.

You commit to working for us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant or care assistant during your studies, but this is not a requirement.
