Job Description
Here, you will work with follow-up of care for children placed in foster homes. The role includes traditional authority exercises, such as investigations, safety assessments, decisions, and follow-up of interventions. You will collaborate closely with the foster care unit, schools, healthcare, and other relevant actors. Collaboration and relationship-building with the child's best interest in focus are crucial. The position involves regular travel within and outside our region. You will visit children in various locations, which may include overnight trips.
You will be part of one of two child follow-up teams, consisting of 7 colleagues and a team leader. The unit also includes a family law team with close cooperation. Here, you will receive a good introduction and acquire the necessary knowledge. We offer job satisfaction, colleagues with big hearts, and we are eager to grow the team. This is sometimes a tough job, but we also have a lot of fun together!
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or a behavioral science degree with supplementary studies that meet the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for social workers (social work basic level, social work advanced level, social law, and psychology). You should have previous work experience working with children and young adults, either through employment or vocational training (VFU). In this role, you must also have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as a large part of the work consists of documentation and meetings with children, parents, and other partners.
It is meritorious if you have experience with:
- Authority exercises targeting relevant groups (Social Services Act).
- Investigating applications and reports according to the Social Services Act (SoL), conducting safety assessments of received information, and making quality-assured decisions and assessments that benefit clients.
- Following up on decided interventions and placed children.
- Preparing cases supported by the Law on Special Provisions on Care of Young Persons (LVU) and receiving applications and reports.
- Representing in administrative courts and being a presenter in the board.
- Participating in external meetings in the form of networks, users, and family meetings.
- Documentation in VIVA (journaling, investigations, care plans).
You have an empathetic ability with a strong interest in listening to others and are quick to understand and put yourself in others' feelings and behaviors. You have good collaboration skills and are unpretentious. It is important that you are secure and strong in yourself and that in crisis situations, you can act calmly, controlled, and independently. You have a good ability to plan and structure your work and can handle changes in workload flexibly.
