We are now looking for a family therapist specializing in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) for the Placement and Resource Unit. The unit consists of family therapists, family law specialists, placement administrators, foster care secretaries, coordinators, group leaders, senior social secretaries, and the unit manager.

In Katrineholm Municipality, we invest in evidence-based methods. The purpose of implementing Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) is to strengthen support for families with one or more adolescents, up to 18 years old, who exhibit norm-breaking behavior. The treatment consists of 12–16 sessions over an equal number of weeks. In BSFT, the focus is on changing family interactions to handle current and future crises. The entire family participates in the sessions, including siblings and other key persons. BSFT is included in the National Board of Health and Welfare's knowledge support as a method that should be used for norm-breaking behavior in young people.

As a family therapist, you will work closely with other professions on the department and within the administration. The proximity between different teams and collaboration across unit boundaries puts the individual in focus, meaning you often work together with others on a case.

Job Responsibilities

Your main tasks will be to plan and conduct family sessions according to the BSFT model. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the team, group leaders, and the child and family department. You are the responsible family therapist for each family, but the team is present as support and security in the daily work. The team has continuous booster and/or further training twice a year. All evidence-based treatment includes quality control. All sessions are filmed, and supervision is concrete and continuous, two hours per week. The employment includes a basic education in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT).

Evening work and solo work are included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and previous work experience in psychosocial change work, preferably within individual and family care. You have good communicative skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, and good knowledge of English as parts of the education take place in English. A B-driver's license for manual transmission is required as you may need to drive a car depending on the client's situation. It is meritorious if you have training in Signs of Safety, Children's Needs in Focus (BBIC), or other evidence-based treatment methods. Experience with the Treserva system is meritorious. Good IT skills are a requirement.

Your initiative is good, you are self-reliant, and take great responsibility for implementing new proposals and working methods. You achieve desired results and can argue and explain why activities should be carried out. You work well with other people and relate to them in a listening and smooth way by listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts constructively. Engagement and participation are something you create when you lead and motivate others to achieve common goals.
