The Administrative Department of the Municipal Executive Board works to streamline operations to free up resources for core activities in other departments. The department works with a high degree of coordination and standardization to ensure a holistic view, efficiency, and quality. Another very important part of the operations is to develop and manage the municipality's common processes and ways of working.

The Workplace

The IT Center consists of the two units Service and Support, and Architecture and Technology, and we serve the two municipal groups, Ludvika and Smedjebacken, as well as the VBU Municipal Consortium. Today, we consist of over 30 employees together, and we now intend to strengthen our team with an additional System Technician for Architecture and Technology. The unit is responsible for the operation, management, development, and support of our municipalities' operational platforms as well as the technical infrastructure. We are also responsible for IT security, and the unit consists of a total of 16 employees with consultant support during periods.

In the team, you work closely with the municipalities' operations and provide third-line support via case management systems. As a System Technician, you perform commissioning, as well as management of the operations' IT systems and their components such as servers, operating systems, storage, databases, integrations, federations, and clients with peripheral equipment. You also work with our internal systems that belong to the infrastructure that enables, simplifies, and automates what the IT systems need. You will carry out your work in teams and individually in an environment with great opportunities for personal development and varied tasks.

Responsibilities

You lead various system implementations as IT's representative in collaboration with the operations and their suppliers. You support various development initiatives with technical expertise. You ensure that established routines, strategies, and principles from management and security groups are followed.

Together with the team, you perform tasks and activities related to system implementations, usually configuring and installing servers, packaging and installing client applications, establishing network communication, configuring federations, configuring integrations, creating provisioning, creating and updating relevant documentation.

You will manage systems after implementation, handle the lifecycle of Windows environments, handle incidents and conduct deeper problem analysis and troubleshooting, and create automation to facilitate administrative routines. We believe you have experience working in larger Windows environments and development. Continuous dialogue with the customer is a natural part of your workday.

Qualifications required for the position

• Be recently graduated or about to complete an academic degree from a university/college education in systems science or computer science.
• Experience in system development and a good understanding of modern development methods.
• Have a strong interest in system development and a continuous desire to develop your own competencies.
• Show a curious and positive attitude, be delivery-oriented, and act with humility in collaborations.
• Have good teamwork skills and actively contribute to constructive work towards common goals.

Meritorious for the position

• Experience in development work in the programming language C#.
• Experience with Microsoft Powershell.
• Experience integrating with external or internal services via API calls.
• Experience working in IT operations in the public sector.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Administration Portals, Microsoft Intune, and/or Microsoft Public Key Infrastructure.
• Holder of a driver's license with category B (car and light truck).
• Experience in technical leadership/project management.
• Knowledge and experience of working according to ITIL.

Working Hours: Daytime, weekdays without holidays 07:30-16:15. The employment may include on-call duty. Possibility of some remote work may occur. Limited flexible hours apply.
