About the workplace

The hospital in Trelleborg is the small hospital with the big heart. Here, internal medicine activities are conducted within cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and neurology. This includes a large outpatient clinic, three inpatient wards, and a day-care ward.

The Department of Close Care and Health has been in operation since January 1, 2025. The department is responsible for grant-funded healthcare activities within Close Care. This includes, among other things, mobile teams and specialized palliative care, outpatient services within close care, emergency care within close care, 1177 telephone service, as well as certain region-wide functions. Additionally, the department is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to close care in Region Skåne. The number of employees is estimated to be around 1,000.

Emergency Care Close Care within Close Care and Health consists of emergency clinics that are not open around the clock, as well as evening and weekend clinics within Region Skåne.

At our emergency clinic in Trelleborg, internal medicine emergency care is provided every day of the week between 08:00 and 20:00. On weekdays between 08:00 and 16:00, we also receive patients with surgical, urological, and orthopedic symptoms. Annually, we have approximately 13,000 visits and nearly 1,000 alarms.

We work in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, and medical secretaries. Furthermore, we work closely with anesthesia and specialist consultants. Almost all patients treated in internal medicine in Trelleborg pass through the emergency clinic, and that is where we make a difference together. Nearly 45 employees work here, some of whom are specialized in emergency care. We have a broad spread of competence, from recently graduated to those with many years of experience.

A typical day involves triage, monitoring, and treatment of the acutely ill patient, for example, during priority 1 alarms. Together with an assistant nurse, you are responsible for the care of your patients. We work in a varied and stimulating environment that requires flexibility and teamwork. The clinic has different roles such as team, alarm, and registration.

Therefore, you are offered an individual introduction program adapted to your experience, competencies, and wishes when you start with us. Development in this program occurs through gradually increased responsibility. Here, you have the opportunity to attend local introduction courses such as A-HLR (Basic Life Support), proAct, and recurring training scenarios. We also offer courses such as Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS).

We operate on a time bank model, meaning that 75 percent of working hours are scheduled, and the remaining 25 percent are placed in a time bank that you have significant influence over. The time bank generates a quota for you, and the model is popular in the workplace, primarily because the schedule is balanced.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a minimum level corresponding to C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.

If you have further education or previous work experience in emergency care, we consider it an advantage.

As a person, you are confident in your professional role, have good teamwork skills, and see opportunities instead of obstacles. Furthermore, you are highly engaged, have a positive attitude, and are driven by new challenges. You also have an open mind for learning new things. We appreciate good communication skills.
