About Hästhagenskolan

Hästhagenskolan is a preschool to year 5 school located in the scenic area of Floda in Lerum Municipality, with proximity to trains and public transport that offer good commuting possibilities from both Gothenburg and Alingsås. The school currently has approximately 250 students.

We are organized into four work teams that form the core of our operations. The work team has a clear mandate to drive change and development work, and together we create a work environment where engagement, participation, and school development are at the center.

The school is Green Flag certified and works actively with Agenda 2030. We also have a clear focus on movement during the school day, including through an active and inspiring break activity where even older students lead activities.

During the school year, we have specifically focused on strengthening our special pedagogical competence by making our learning environments accessible in both teaching and after-school care. This is part of our systematic quality work and strengthens the entire school's pedagogical leadership.

Job Responsibilities

As a resource pedagogue at Hästhagenskolan:

  • You are part of our flexible work team and flexible operations.
  • You play a crucial role for students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF), with a special focus on autism.
  • Together with other staff and under the guidance of the special education teacher, you support students in their learning and social contexts during the school day and some time in after-school care.
  • You create an accessible learning environment and take responsibility for adapting the environment according to SPSM's Accessibility Model to optimize students' prerequisites.
  • You plan and prepare by taking responsibility for all activities of the school day to stay one step ahead.
  • You are a pedagogical role model and use alternative communication methods in addition to spoken language to meet each student's specific needs.

We are looking for someone who is engaged, cooperative, and has a strong commitment to children's well-being and development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious about finding each student's unique driving forces.

To fit the role:

  • Do you have university credits in pedagogy, behavioral science, or social work? Alternatively, do you have a pedagogical education from a university college of applied sciences (e.g., social pedagogue, activation pedagogue, or support pedagogue).
  • You have good experience working with students within the autism spectrum.
  • Are you a team player without ego, with good ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, and guardians.
  • Meritorious are knowledge in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and experience with children and young people with ASD.
  • Your strength is creating environments where students get to succeed.
