With approximately 1,350 students, Lerum Upper Secondary School is an attractive and popular school with a strong value base focusing on safety, attendance, and challenges. The school is characterized by breadth and specialization. We offer nine national programs, an adapted upper secondary program, and the Introduction Programs, divided into five school units, each led by a principal. The school also has an administrative director and an operations director for coordination. Teachers are organized into work teams centered around students in the different programs. The school is located in a fantastic environment, with a green park area right next to the Säveån river, just a few minutes' walk from Lerum center and the train station.

Job Description

We are looking for a confident and creative teacher in Swedish and English (preferably with additional subjects) for the Introduction Programs, where you will have your workplace and affiliation. In addition to teaching your subjects, you will lead study sessions and participate in our two-teacher system, where you support students by observing other classes. You will work closely with your work team in the Introduction Program (IM) and be part of a subject group that meets regularly for knowledge exchange. At IM, classroom observations and pedagogical discussions are a natural part of teaching development.

The role also includes shared mentorship for a class together with one of your closest colleagues. Mentorship is a significant part of the work at IM, involving close communication with mentee students, guardians, student health services, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher and qualified to teach Swedish and English at the compulsory school or upper secondary level. We place special emphasis on your didactic competence, your active work with adaptations in learning environments, and your experience with students in need of support.

It is important that you are a strong team player who, together with your colleagues in the work team, works to ensure that students reach as far as possible in their knowledge and life development. Your mentorship is characterized by a strong commitment to the whole person, and you understand the value of active mentorship in contact with the student and their guardians.

You see collaboration with other teachers and student health services as a natural prerequisite for developing your teaching to meet students' needs. You value your own learning and development together with others.

Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis. Start date: August 12 or by agreement.

The position may be filled subject to necessary decisions being made.
