Mellerud Municipality strives to offer an attractive workplace by valuing a good working environment with high participation. Our organization is built on openness, honesty, and integrity. For us, secure welfare for all generations and care for each other are two important foundational pillars.

We are the small municipality with big opportunities; our operations are characterized by short decision-making paths where you, as an employee, can truly make a difference with your engagement.

About the Department

The Employment Unit is a crucial part of the municipality's work to strengthen residents on their path to self-sufficiency. Here, we work closely with case workers within financial assistance and offer individually tailored labor market measures to individuals who need support to establish themselves in the labor market.

Our mission is to give people the right conditions to develop, find motivation, and take steps toward work or studies. As a unit, we work with coaching, counseling, internships, work training, and matching with employers. Through a structured and supportive approach, we create opportunities for each individual to succeed based on their prerequisites.

The Employment Unit is part of a larger operation that is also responsible for financial assistance, housing social contracts, integration, budget and debt counseling, and estate administration. In close collaboration with financial assistance, we follow up on action plans and ensure that measures lead forward toward increased participation and self-support.

To strengthen individuals' opportunities, the Employment Unit offers several types of measures:

  • Internships and work with wage subsidies for individuals who need support to establish themselves in working life.
  • Employment placements and work training for individuals who are further from the labor market and need more adapted support.

The unit consists of 18 dedicated employees who work together to create sustainable solutions for the municipality's residents. Within IFO in Mellerud Municipality, we place knowledge, quality, and development at the center. We offer an inclusive working environment where you have the opportunity to influence, contribute, and make a real difference in people's lives.

  • Collaboration with financial assistance — Contribute a labor market perspective in joint planning, check-ins, and follow-ups.
  • Matching with employers — Create and maintain contacts with employers, identify opportunities, and match participants to internships, work training, or employment.
  • Group activities — Plan and conduct group meetings, workshops, and themed sessions regarding job seeking, motivation, work life knowledge, and study paths.
  • Documentation and follow-up — Maintain structured documentation, follow up on measures, and contribute to the development of the unit's working methods.
