Our client Markus is 29 years old and has a lovely team of assistants. We are now looking for you who can step in when needed if someone is sick, wants time off, or is on vacation.

Markus is autistic, has Down syndrome, mild epilepsy, ADHD, and no verbal speech. We work around the clock to support him in his daily life.

Markus lives in a villa in central Mariestad, sharing the home with another client who also has their own assistants. It often happens that you work side by side and go on outings together. Activating Markus during the day and finding fun activities, combined with the necessities of daily life, becomes an important part of the assistant role. Something Markus does every week is swimming and bowling. He loves trains and enjoys going for walks to watch the trains pass by.

Markus does not have verbal speech, so we use picture support and sign language support. He also needs help with wayfinding. He walks indoors without aids, but when he goes outside, his energy may run out, so he uses a wheelchair outdoors.

The Assistant's Role and Experience

We are looking for you who are calm, patient, but also creative and proactive. It is important that you can come up with fun things that spark Markus's interest and be a bit cunning to inspire him.

You will be offered pleasant colleagues and an active client who truly appreciates their assistants. You will receive individualized introduction and training in all aspects regarding the client's support needs and routines – it is important that both you as an assistant and our client feel safe. You need to be flexible regarding working hours.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with epilepsy.
• Swedish language skills (spoken and written).
• Experience with picture support and sign language support.
• Experience in similar work.
• A driver's license (Category B) is advantageous but not decisive.
• Experience with autism.
• Experience with Down syndrome.

Working Hours/Employment Level

• Immediate start.
• Hourly employment as needed.
• Working hours are spread across all hours of the day.
• 24-hour shifts with waiting periods.

About Salary

• We apply salary according to the Fremia collective agreement.
