We are currently looking for a Project Engineer for a position with the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).

This is a consultancy assignment based in Gothenburg. The position is full-time.

The role involves close collaboration with the client, requiring high flexibility and strong teamwork skills.

The Assignment

As a Project Engineer, you will serve as a support to project managers, specialists, and other project team members in railway projects. Your role involves assisting with the management and control of projects regarding time, cost, and content. You will also independently plan, execute, and follow up on tasks within various parts of the project.

Responsibilities

• Act in a coordinating capacity and provide support to project managers and the project organization in project-related matters.
• Assist in the development and follow-up of project management documentation and processes.
• Drive, prepare, and on behalf of the project manager, represent them in agreed-upon matters.
• Create, update, follow up, and report on the project schedule using current system support.
• Manage project economics through forecasts, invoice handling, follow-ups, and financial basis documents.
• Support the creation, updating, and follow-up of control programs, requirement lists, and deviations.
• Coordinate risk management, risk follow-up, treatment plans, and the implementation of risk reserve models.
• Handle supplier inquiries, call-offs, and support the creation of job descriptions and tender documents.
• Manage external communication, coordinate information efforts, and assist with strategic communication documents.
• Provide administrative support through minute-taking, document management, diary management, permission handling, meeting administration, and updating project management documents.
• Prepare summaries, presentations, and reports, and handle classified information and SUA analyses when necessary.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• University or college degree in economics, engineering, or construction, or other education combined with experience that Trafikverket assesses as equivalent.
• You are result-oriented, thrive in a changing environment, and embrace challenges in daily work. You have strong initiative-taking skills, build good relationships, collaborate well, and are interested in societal development.
• At least 3 years of experience within the last 6 years as a project engineer, contracting engineer, designer, foreman, project coordinator, or project economist (or equivalent role). You must have had at least 80% employment in assignments that individually had a production budget of at least 50 million SEK.
• Experience in forecasting, cost follow-up, and invoice handling.
• Experience in risk management and strong knowledge of scheduling, specifically using MS Project.
• Very good proficiency and experience working with the Office package.
• Experience with Trafikverket's administrative system C7, the project portal, Projectwise, or equivalent systems assessed as comparable.
• Good spoken Swedish and very good written Swedish.
• Valid driver's license for passenger cars.

Merits

• Education and good knowledge of AB, ABT, ABK (Swedish construction contract forms).
• Education in BASÄVISTA (Working alone on tracks), completed within the last three years.
• Experience from at least 3 years (80% employment) in railway projects with tasks corresponding to this description.
• At least two years of experience in economic follow-up and forecasting within construction projects, including experience with system C7 and forecasting within Trafikverket.
• Strong teamwork skills and a relationship-building approach to work.
