The Role of Environmental Specialist

Are you an Environmental Specialist looking to work close to production, where your solutions make a real difference? As an Environmental Specialist with us, you will work with various types of soil and water environmental technical tasks close to production. These tasks may include sampling, environmental coordination, material selection, impact on the surroundings, and compliance with legal and other environmental requirements. You will play a central role in:

• Supporting projects to ensure they meet legal and current environmental requirements
• Being out in production projects to perform field sampling or environmental coordination
• Translating results from field sampling into result reports and instructions that simplify processes for the projects
• Providing technical support throughout the entire project lifecycle, from early investigations and pre-studies to finished relation documents and construction

You will work closely with colleagues in several technical areas within NCC Teknik and with our production organizations in the projects. Here you will work close to reality and close to those who build. Some of our projects are security classified.

In your role as an Environmental Specialist, you will:

• Perform tasks independently and lead your own assignments within your technical area
• Plan, direct, and follow up on assignments according to NCC's business system
• Manage budgets and build good customer relationships

About NCC Teknik

NCC Teknik is a specialist department within NCC Infrastructure with approximately 70 employees distributed across four technical areas: Civil Engineering Structures, Geo & Soil, Sustainability & Environment, and Project Management. The department supports the entire NCC group with advanced technical competence and plays a key role in ensuring constructability, quality, and cost-efficiency in our projects.

The Environmental Group is part of the Sustainability & Environment unit. The group consists of three employees in Gothenburg and four in Solna. A large part of the work takes place in the local region, as the core of the tasks includes field sampling or environmental coordination in production, although some tasks can be performed remotely. The group brings expertise in environmental support and production-proximate environmental coordination, competencies that are crucial for NCC to work safely, comply with current legal and environmental requirements, and deliver profitable and sustainable projects.

Your Profile

You have a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science and approximately three to five years of experience working in contaminated areas.

We are looking for you who thrive in dialogue with production and who want to understand their daily work in depth. You have a good sense for the consulting business, value creation, and the ability to package technical competence in the right way.

As a person, you are:

• Enjoy practical work, as field work with physical elements is part of the role
• Positive, relationship-building, and confident in collaboration with others
• Solution-oriented and curious
• Self-initiative and accustomed to taking responsibility

You speak and write Swedish fluently. Fluent English in both speech and writing is meritorious.

Meritorious for the position is any of the following courses offered by SGF or similar courses: i) General basic course in environmental sampling with the possibility of certification according to Nordtest, ii) Environmental technical soil investigations, or iii) Risk assessment of contaminated areas.

If you are a certified sampler, this is seen as meritorious. Basic knowledge in GIS or AutoCAD is also an advantage.

We believe you are a team player who likes to contribute to the whole, across technical boundaries, together with our environmental group and project teams out in the operations.

The position is a permanent employment located at NCC's office in Gothenburg. The role will involve travel, and a Category B driver's license is required. Candidates for the position will undergo background checks in accordance with NCC's security culture.
