Traffic and Parking Case Worker – Nyköping

The Technical Division operates independently and consists of five business areas: Streets/Parks/Harbour, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Meal Service, and Municipal Properties. These are supported by a project department, an economics department, and an administrative staff. Approximately 400 permanent employees work within the division, which generates an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK. Our commissioners are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

Streets/Parks/Harbour is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of streets, parks, and the Nyköping harbour on behalf of the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, as well as certain leisure facilities on behalf of the Culture and Leisure Committee. The operations ensure that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets the needs of road users regarding accessibility, traffic safety, and security. Well-maintained streets, beautiful park environments, safe playgrounds, and a vibrant harbour aim to make Nyköping an attractive place for both residents and visitors.

You will join a cheerful team of 18 people with various professions, forming a planning and investigation unit within the streets, parks, and harbour area. The unit's work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the operational units for streets, parks, and harbour, as well as other operations and administrations within Nyköping Municipality.

Job Responsibilities

As a case worker, you will handle a broad spectrum of tasks within the traffic sector. The role involves extensive contact with the public and authorities, as well as exercising authority and handling traffic legal matters.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • Respond to public inquiries regarding traffic and parking supervision via phone, email, and case management systems.
  • Handle accessibility questions, traffic safety issues, and matters concerning wayfinding.
  • Collaborate and issue work orders to the operational activities.
  • Follow up and manage parking supervision.
  • Invoice management.
  • Update checklists and routines.
  • Update the website.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant education oriented towards the work area or work experience considered equivalent. It is an advantage if you have experience with the systems Nova and Infracontrol, as well as good knowledge of the Office package. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and express yourself fluently in both speech and writing. You also have good knowledge of English. A B-driving license is a requirement. If you also have experience working in a politically governed organization, it is a plus but not a must.

As a person, you are a team player with good cooperation skills and a secure, social demeanor. You quickly absorb new information and work in a structured, responsible, and solution-oriented manner. You work securely and efficiently independently by planning, prioritizing, and following up on your tasks, while also thriving in collaborations and functioning well with others.
